A few complaints here...

-How the hell does Wisconsin get a number 1 seed? Pitt deserves that seed more because of their current record (15-0, I believe) and win over the same Wisconsin team. How you can job an unbeaten like the Panthers is beyond me.

-Kentucky doesn't deserve to go right now. 0-2 in the SEC and a weak OoC schedule after finishing third in the Guardians Classic. To me, that's not good enough for the Wildcats.

-Bucknell a 6 seed?!? You're crazy! How does Bucknell get a 6 seed considering that the Patriot League is one of the weaker conferences in Division I right now. It doesn't make sense.

-Although you're right with Florida Atlantic as the A-Sun rep, they're in only because current conference leader (and Division I newbie) Kennesaw State is ineligible to compete for the NCAA championship.

Can't Villanova play at the Wachovia Center this year? I heard during the game v. West Virginia that the WVU game and the Oklahoma game were played on campus so that Villanova only played a couple games down in South Philly. If they played any more at the Wachovia Center this year, it'd be considered a full-time home court, and they wouldn't be allowed to play NCAA games there. VU basically gave up some box office cash for two games that would have sold 11,000 more tickets for the chance at playing games in Philadelphia. So why would they be seeded for Dayton?

In order for the Mets' run of 12 losses in 17 games to mean something, the Phillies still had to win 13 of 17.

THey can, yes.

But from what I see, he gave the Philly spots to Pitt and UConn, both 2 seeds to Nova's 3. I think Pitt might be as close to Dayton as they are to Philly though, so it'd make more sense to send Pitt to Dayton.

Ahhhh.... my favorite topic!

But it's a tad early to project seeds and results.

I know Syracuse wasnt allowed to play at the Carrier Dome last year but that is their home court for 20+ games.

All I can say at this point is that Gonzaga is once again the most overrated team in the NCAA. They only beat LMU by 12 last night, on their home court, and that was with a couple of 20 something to 5 something runs. Heck, U-Dub beat us by almost 50, and that was before Daryl Pegram and Adoyah Miller got hurt. Plus, let's forget that LMU's without our only true point guard, Damian Martin, who's redshirting after he tore his Achilles' tendon while training for the Australian national team. Yes, the Zags once again are completely overrated, as is their star player, 70s porn star mustache and all.

although i like what you have said, i woud have to say that Creighton would not get a 7 seed. They have lost their key player (Nate Funk), and they are 4th in their conference, which is low for them. I can not see them being able to compete with the conference leaders. and the suprising teams in the conference

I would say that NEbraska will not be the last five in , they will probably get an 8 seed tops. They have played as a team lately, being 1st in the big 12. I know the big 12 isnt a conference really anymore, with a lot of power houses losing lately. Their 2 sophmores, Alex Maric (Austrailin, for those who care), and Joe McCray have contributed a lot lately, as well as JAson D.

THe most likely case senario is that Nebraska goes on a losing streak and goes to the NIT, while creighton wins almost 90% of the rest of their games, and winning the Mo Valley conference.

Im done for now.(ill see what else i can find to argue about)

I just wanna do hoodrat things with my friends.

I believe that it only applies to Regional hosts. Since Philly is not a Regional host, then Villanova would go there (Provided they don't screw up here against Seton Hall tonight).

Oh, and natsfan: You live in Omaha and you're badmouthing the Jays? *SMACK!*

You know they're just waiting for March where they buzzsaw through the MVC tourny once again. Trust me. Also, doesn't the win over a very good UNI team mean anything? Think about it.... Northern Iowa has wins over LSU, Dayton, and (just recently) Southern Illinois. Beating UNI, a preseason favorite, ought to mean something.

Not if Bradley beats them first (I still hope this is the year they play up to their potential).

Oh well...irregardless it's going to be cool to watch the MVC title game on National Television. ^_^

It applies to subregional hosts. The A-10 hosts the Philly subregional, not Villanova -- but the rule also says you can't play an NCAA tournament game (prior to the Final Four) in an arena where you played more than three home games.

Beat me by a full day. But I guess that's a mute point now, eh?

Thanks for clarifying the rule, WM. I knew they were being especially careful about it this year, just in case this arose.

i dont see the Valley getting more than one team in the tournament when you all know conferences like the Big East and Big 10 or even Big 12 could get anywhere from 5 to 8 teams, althought the Big East would be the only one to get 8. but there are just too many good teams in good conferences for someone like the Valley to get an at large. just something to think about.

I disagree with that. For every conference that has improved its profile, there are just that many that are suffering down years (Conference USA and the Atlantic 10 are two that come to mind). Currently, ESPN is projecting that four teams from the Missouri Valley (Wichita State, Northern Iowa, Southern Illinois, Creighton) will make the final 65. Heck, they're projecting an at-large bid for UW-Milwaukee right now (they're second in the Horizon League but have a Top 25 RPI ranking).

Oh no! It's what I've dread for years. My alma mater playing against the team I grew up loving right next door. What do I do?

If anyone is interested in playing in the yahoo tournament challenge when it opens, please PM me. I've run a kick ass pool on yahoo for 5 years no and seek a few more college hoops know-it-alls. Thanms.

I have an idea, ROC. Take no sides if it happens. This way, you won't have any issues.

Anyway, I have to throw in my two cents...

-Okay, on what basis do you have Bucknell as a 7 seed? I'm sorry, but isn't the Patriot League near the bottom half of the Conference RPI Standings? Also, outside of a win at Syracuse, what else have the Bison done to deserve that 7th seed?

-Five out of the Missouri Valley? Nah. Missouri State won't make it. The top four teams would make it, but Missouri State won't make it.
