NFL Jerseys and Wordmarks

Since teams in the NFL began putting small wordmarks on jerseys back in the late '90's/early 2000's, I've been really keen on that whole trend. If it were up to me, every team in the league would have a wordmark on their jerseys. It just kinda makes them look more "official". A team like the Redskins should be a model for the rest of the league; they simply added their wordmark to their existing jerseys, instead of waiting for a uniform change to add them, like many teams have done. What does everyone think about this?

I don't mind it on the jerseys that already have them (except the Browns and Giants - just looks out of place on such classic unis), but I think when it comes to the Packers, Raiders, Vikings, Jets, Steelers and other teams whose uniforms are pretty traditional, I say leave 'em alone. It should remain optional.

I like the small wordmark. I hope it doesn't go to the huge name like some college and hs teams do. I don't go for the symbol (Bengals) or the shoulder symbol (Jets, Steelers). I could see the symbol in the area the NFL equipment is placed like the Miami Hurricanes have the "U" Also (a bit off topic) I wish RBK would eliminate the white triangle with the "equipment" because it looks bad on colored collars.

You just said they were traditional, but the the Jets and Steelers both have a logo on their jersey instead of a wordmark, which is basically the same.

well yeah...but in terms of wordmarks, I think you'd leave those alone because of the shoulder logos, or what have you.
