Myron
I am disappointed in the "Torino 2006" Winter Olympics logo. It is supposed to depict the famous Torino landmark Mole Antoniella yet it ressembles an Alp more closely. The colors are dull; especially when compared to the logos of Nagano or even Salt Lake City. The "Athens 2004" logo also used just white and blue, but I overlooked it as these are the colours of the Greek flag. This may be the first time that I don't purchase any Olympic apparel. How do you feel about the Torino logo?

whitllam
It's classic modern Italian design: sleek and simple, yet dynamic. The Italians are great at anything design related: cars, furniture, architecture...

kc51design
Whaaaaat? The logo is great, what can I say, less is more, one color, one simple shape that tells so much about the city, the game and it's so fresh it spels winter olympics... 6 years ago I submited 3 logos but my has so many simlar characteristics, but this one rocks. winghaz
The Torino logo is a lot better than some of the other Olympic logos. I think specifically of Beijing, Vancouver, Sydney and Barcelona. It makes me proud to be an American to say we have had some decent-looking logos for Olympics in the U.S. My favorite was for Los Angeles in '84. sc49erfan15
I saw it on a McDonald's bag the other day, and to me, it looks like what you would see if you were giving someone the finger.Seriously, close one eye, give your computer the finger, and look at it, next to the logo. jab8281965
Two chances of NYC and Reno/Tahoe hosting the games in 2014 and 2016 - slim and none. They're not going to give the games to North America in 2002, 2010 AND 2014.And as for NYC, the bid is dead, there's no stadium.I'm thinking San Francisco or a place like Houston have a better shot at being the next US Summer host.I think there's like 3 logos an olympic city has, one when you submit your bid, then you can do a "candidate city" bid, and then if you're picked for the games, you do another logo. When I was in college (late 80s/early 90s), there was a group formed to try to bring the Olympics to greater Boston - with the goal of getting the 2012/14/16 winter or smmer games (that was right around they split the games), and I did some work for them, and the information you needed THEN to submit a bid was amazing. I still have a bunch of the work we did in case anyone ever wants to bring the Olympics to Boston (it's actually a pretty good city to host, as there's not much that would need to be built given all of the colleges/universities in town). FiddySicks
Two chances of NYC and Reno/Tahoe hosting the games in 2014 and 2016 - slim and none. I wouldnt be so sure about that. The Reno/Tahoe area has grown tremendously within the past decade and is going to be absolutely huge by 2014. That along with the fact that Tahoe hosted the 1960 winter games, who knows. But of course im gonna say that.
DEAD!
EDIT: well, it looks like they wont even bother with a new logo for their next bidDamn it, they should have gone with this one Recyling bid logos do happen. For example here are the Salt Lake bidsIstanbulBrian in Boston, you and I might be the only ones here that actually like the Vancouver logo. Although, I would not put at #1.
