Did anyone watch the ceremony? At first they introduced her as being from the United States, and she had that "Haha, wow" look. Then they corrected it and said she was from Canada. jkrdevil
You guys are lucky this time in Canada, it's us in the States that are going to have to deal with Pierre McGuire. I hope Gary Thorne doesn't come back either. I couldn't stand him in the 2002 Games. Don't worry. It's the NHL on NBC announcers for the mens tournament. That means it Emrick, Davidson, McGuire. Clement and Ferraro will be in the studio I believe. The Dave Strader team is the B team i think.
Alphabet Man
Saw the Opening Ceremony last night, that was awesome, the Giant people ski jumper was mad, and the torch lighting was bloody awesome with all the firewoeks......now realistically i think we could get 1 or 2 Golds, the Beggs-Smith and Camplin, our best hopes i think, maybe a few silvers and bronzes but i dont expect to come back with a 50 medals like we do at the Olympics, we have like no snow here....i was surpirsed that a few African coutnries are sending team- South Africa, Ethiopia, Kenya, Senegal, Madagascar to name a few.... twitter.com/thebrainofMatt

Cujo
They don't have it in women's basketball (which are almost always 60 point blowouts), so why start now?
jkrdevil
Ugh... 16-0! Where's the damn mercy rule in Women's Ice Hockey? Just think of the scores when Men's hockey starts and Italy has to face NHL All-Stars.
Squeaks4
I missed both airings of the opening ceremony. Can someone please inform me how the torch was lit and also what actually happened with the Ferarri? Or if anyone knows where there is a clip of it that would be great. Stampman
Ugh... 16-0! Where's the damn mercy rule in Women's Ice Hockey? I think they were taking it easy--but as goals scored can affect your placement for the medal round--get 'em while you can...Don't blink or you'll miss a goal...I watched part of the game and missed a couple--just because my attention went elsewhere for a few seconds... WJMorris3
Canada's second women's hockey game, a 12 - 0 pasting of Russia. No offense, but this might end up like the USA softball team, who went through the entire 2004 Olympic tournament without allowing a single run. How long can the shutout streak last?(Why do I suspect that USA and Canada might play to a scoreless draw and go to shootout?)
