While we're on the Little League rant, someone teach this guy how to bunt!! His bottom hand shouldn't be halfway up the barrel and he is asking to break a finger or two on his top hand.

Looks similar to Michigan's helmet's.

Yes, except for the part where these suck.

For all the bird de lis haters I think the bird de lis isnt supposed to be a pelican and a fleur de lis I think its just a fleur de lis with a pelicans head. Thats what it looks like to me. Also the flair around the tip of the beak is just flair that fleur de lis have sometimes source I am from NOLA.

I'm a lifelong Mets fan and since they pulled that black crap in 1998 I haven't bought any Mets apparel that has black in it as part of the wordmark or logo. That includes white jerseys with the black trim on the lettering...it should be pinstripes @ home w/ blue hat, snow white at home w/ blue hat, and grey road w/ blue hat. Thats IT. And limit the snow whites...

Call me old school or whatever, but I think the batting helmet is the hard shell version of your hat. It bugs me when some teams (in pro and college) have a completely different helmet than what is on the field in hat form.

Hey leopard, it is Billy Wagner, lol. We've been over him already. Like I said there's always an injury risk with him, apparently even when bunting. Also, watching a reliever try to hit makes my day because I know I am better than major leaguer at something.

Dr. Kelso: My son is a big baseball fan. Not so much playing it, but more the designing and sewing of uniforms.

Tyler: That's neat.

Dr. Kelso: No, it's not.

If the Metropolitans are depending on Billy the Kid to lay down a bunt at ANY point this season, they're in more trouble than one can even reasonably fathom.

Also, the helmets are ass.

I saw the Mets play in person for the first time ever on my honeymoon in NYC last July. They creamed the Braves 8-1 and I've been hooked on them ever since. Don't mind these helmets but they should stick with the blue with orange NY. Classic. I agree that they haven't done anything since introducing black and although someone did mention the 2000 World Series...they didn't win it all so that doesn't count..."close" only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades.

By the way...does anyone know how I can get my signature flags smaller??

Thanks

I saw these in my newspaper (Newsday) today but the picture was in black and white. It looked like the batting practice hats as the helmet version. As a lifelong Mets fan, I hope these :cursing: helmets that look like they've been fished out of a pay toilet at Penn Station will not make it to a regular season game.

Agree with you 100 percent.

There's actually a historical reason the Mets' colors are blue

and orange and NOT blue, orange and black.

That helmet is the new Rawlings Coolflo.

Wow, it's a good thing they didn't name it the Coolio...

Although a batting helmet with cornrows sticking out of it would probably be less hideous then those, y'heard?

Anyone else sporting these monstrosities in ST?
