griffelh
Is it the Mets job to look as ugly as possible? i know the yankees look classic, so are the mets supposed to use every new look out there? so many ugly mets spring training unis. Amen, I agree with you 100%. The Mets far and away have the worst BP jersey around, and this new helmet paint job is just atrocious!
griffelh
Looks similar to Michigan's helmet's. Yes, except for the part where these suck. exactly!
griffelh
There's actually a historical reason the Mets' colors are blue and orange and NOT blue, orange and black. That is actually misleading, yes they originally took blue from the Dodgers and orange from the Giants, but black is a Giants color as well, so from a historical perspective there is nothing wrong with it; it is the gratuitous way that they use black, especially on the pinstripe and snow white jerseys. Just not needed there at all.

I'm hoping only the Mets are the only team to do something as trashy as going San Diego State to their batting helmets.
bdugan14
I bet these things (the paint scheme at least) don't last past the third series of the season. The media is going to tear these things apart. Is that a two-tone catchers/Olerud helmet that Franco is wearing?

Just not needed there at all. It's not misleading because the Mets specifically took ONE color from each of their National League predecessors. Red was one of the Dodgers' colors, so why don't the Metsintroduce blue, orange, black and red uniforms? The black's gotta go.
