illinirox1
Ok, a joke and then some relatively serious discussion.First, please look at this picture:Why would the Mexican national team ever advertise that a piece of clothing was made in the USA? As a former resident of El Paso, Texas and frequent "border hopper," I'm all too familiar with the migration of textile jobs from the US side to just across the Rio Grande. Sorry, it would just be like China selling plastic toys that are "made in the USA."As for their design, I hope that their primary wordmark wasn't created in the hopes of being taken seriously. It looks like a souvenier T design that you haggle for on Juarez Avenue. Even with such a bright color scheme, they had an opportunity to use a lot of imagery common to Mexican heritage, most notably the snake/serpent.I love and respect Mexico and its history. The Aztecs, subsequent Spanish influences, etc. make for an opportunity to do something really innovative. Instead, they look like a souped-up over 40 co-ed softball team. It's a standard Cafepress graphic, it appears on every American made product they sell. I'm assuming that the Mexican Hockey store is just an easy to run Cafepress site. Shmee
How are they immune from the swifts?!?! Because Nike's not interested in the Mexican national ice hockey team? The world's foremost practitioners of professional tag-team wrestling.
IronChefShark
ICs post your jersey again. Im not gonna post them here again. I figure that if anyone who hasnt seen them wants to see them bad enough, theyll do a search in the concepts forum.Im seriously thinking about buying one of these jerseys so i can wear it to a stockton thunder game and see what kind of reaction it gets. (I wont wear anything but a sharks jersey to sharks games so Im not wearing it to san jose) US state flag concepts
IronChefShark
I love and respect Mexico and its history. The Aztecs, subsequent Spanish influences, etc. make for an opportunity to do something really innovative. which was what my goal was when I made my Mexican ice hockey concept. the primary is a golden eagle head carrying a rattlesnake in its beak enclosed in sort of a "aztec calender" style circle. I also made an alternate based on an actual aztec calender. I seriously want to submit the design to the Mexican Ice Hockey Federation, but before I do I want to make sure I go about it the correct way as to not get taken advantage of. Im sure a lot of designers around here can attest to that. US state flag concepts
IronChefShark
After years of using leaf blowers they are now using hockey sticks. Seriously, how is Mexico having a hockey team any different than Israel or Thailand? and South Africa, and the United Arab Emirates. beesharps
Mexico City always seems to host a Division III (aka D Pool) tournament each year, whether it be U18, U20, or Men's WC's. They must have better ice there than in New Zealand or Armenia. But they won promotion last year in the U20 and the Men's, so we'll see how they do against stiffer competition. I'll be rooting for them, though!
stpmn
I would assume Manny Fernandez will start in goal for their national team. Fernandez is from the west side of Toronto...I don't think just because his last name is "Fernandez" automatically means hes from Mexico or any other South American countryThanks for the info. I didn't mean to say that about the French-Mexican goaltender from the west side of Toronto.

Stampman
And look how the San Jeronimo Bears decided to use the Buffalo Sabres template, complete with B and sword secondary. Sloppy editing... Well the Wolves use a Bruins template and the Falcons use Phoenix.THe National ones look the best--even if the logo didn't take much effort. Comic Sans walks into a bar, and the bartender says, "Sorry, we don't serve your type here."

Thats like saying Niel Odonnell should host a talk show because he shares the same last name as Rosie.
