Tampa Bay Buccaneers Concept

It's pretty hard to mess with something as nice as what the Bucs currently rock, but I had to make an attempt to mix it up a bit. I think using 5 different colors is a bit too much, so I removed orange and darkned the red on top of that. Yeah, I know the orange gave the uniforms "pop", but I dont see it mixing well with this concept anyways. I also ditched the secondary pirate ship logo as well as making a few other changes. Well, here are the results. C&C as always, especially you Bucfan. Thanks.

This is a nice set, but I am still partial to the orange and current number font. I do however really like the red, I always thought they shouldve used more of a blood red, being pirates and all...what would it look like with the orange trim?

These are pretty good, DC!

As much as I liked the orange in the mix (and I preferred the Creamsicles to the Pewter Power look overall), losing the orange made their design look better. The orange looked forced and out of place with red and pewter being the dominant colors.

Bonus thank-yous for:

1. Not making a pewter alt. Metallic alts... :puke:

2. Not using the illegible number font the Bucs had on their practice jerseys that so many people think is TEH KEWLEST!!!!1!!1!11! Folks, it's illegible in still photos taken with the player isolated and near the camera. As such, to use it for purposes of identifying individual athletes during a play where 22 oversized, fleet-footed men are colliding violently into each other is :censored: STUPID.

My only knock on this is the black alt. Never going to happen in hot, humid Tampa. Still, it's better than pewter (see thank you #1).

In order for the Mets' run of 12 losses in 17 games to mean something, the Phillies still had to win 13 of 17.

Haaaa. Well, as much as i want to hate these and tear them to pieces, i just cant. Just a few things i think about this one:

1. LOVE the darkened red. I agree it looks more "piratey"

2. Diggin that you kept the pewter, but your shade liiks a bit too light. Darken it and its perfect

3. I know your feelings on the Pirate Ship logo, but i feel its strong, and even though the flag is one of the best if not the best logo in the NFL IMO, it looks a bit redundant on the helmets and the jerseys

4. I know you dont like the Orange, but it does give it some "pop" as you said.when i first saw the color you used along with the side stripes on the pants my first thought was Washington Redskins. I think that Orange may help to show the difference better.

Overall, awesome work buddy. When you first showed me the little you had goin on this the other day i wasnt impressed, but im massively diggin this. Awesome work man.

Bro, I always pull through. Did you seriously think I was bust out with Romulan Falcon?? You can't even read that font. Fives look like sixes. Threes look like eights. Twos looks like :censored:.

And as for making the pewter looking darker, sometimes the color looks dark. Sometimes it looks light. Just use your imagination because the color is metallic, brah. :P

Thanks for the props and keep the comments flowin. Late.

Good set overall. Not feeling the black alt, but that's mainly because black alts are becoming too common recently. I don't know that the number font works. It's not "pirate" enough for my taste. Not sure about the Eagles' name font either(it looks like theirs, not sure if it actually is or not). Like VitaminD said, thanks for not going the metallic alt look.

It's not the same font the Eagles' use, but I can see how you think it looks similar. As for the digits, as I said in a previous post, I deided against something more "Buccaneerish" because they were just too hard to read. If you've ever seen the Bucs in their practice unis you would know what I'm sayin here.

I just updated these badboys a lil bit by adding some alternate colored stitching on the jerseys ala the XFL's Las Vegas Outlaws if you recall. I think it goes well with the Buccaneer-type theme.

Brad Johnson plays for the Vikings. The Bucs QB's are Simms or Griese

I know BJ is currently a Vike. I normally turn back the clock and use classic players from franchise history with my concepts. As for this one, I went back to players from their championship team in 2002.

CC:

1. I like their current numbers and not the style you have here, but I agree that the RomFalcon Font is way too hard to read at a distance.

2. The blood red is a hair too dark for me.

3. Black alts are cool, but something is missing....maybe to please the old orange crowd, use orange numbers on the black alts.

4. I agree with others that Pewter alts look goofy against many colors, like red, but they might be OK with an all-black number/all black trim motif

5. Gotta love the flag logo and the Bucco Bruce, but they can't mix. Era A was then. Era B is now. Stick with now unless you are doing throwbacks.

6. Only way to get a more "Buccaneer-ish" look might be an orange-ishpants stripe looking like a sword, instead of the straight red/black. Kind of a sword with half red/half orange (reflection effect on sword) and a black outline and hilt.
