NHL uniform Changes 06-07

Good Day;

I got to take a Gander at a Reebok 2006 Catalogue last night, which i assume is for this upcoming season, with all these TOP SECRET changes in the works. It featured a written description of the jerseys materials and what not, as well as a graphic of an All Star looking jersey, featuring both Conferences. Here's some of the Highlights:

1. The little blurb made mention of 'Stretchy, Lightweight, Dry and Breathable etc etc' Fabric, so my guess is they will be form fitting, maybe even more so than the Nike Swift Jerseys.

2. The Graphic Showed that an NHL crest will be sewn into the bottom of the collar, ala the NFL. The style of the jersey was alot like the template they used for the CFL Reebok did: The Eastern conference ( or West...which ever one uses red) which was what they used as an example, looked pretty much like the Stampeders White Jersey. I hope and pray they dont cut one template for all teams though.

3. In the Catalogue, they always show the list of teams available, with their Logos, as did this one, but in the place of the Ducks and Sabres, was a TBD ( to be determined ) which we know are changing anyway. INTERESTINGLY that was also a TBD for Capitals and Bruins? Are there changes in store for those teams too? Hmmm...

Thats all i got for now!

I dont know about the Bruins, but anything that would result in the retirement of those Winnie The Pooh alts is welcome by me. In 03-04 they wore the vintage jerseys for a few games, perhaps they are following the Sabres lead and are going back to the jerseys from the early 70s. I'm not a Bruins fan but I think that would look good.

Great! All hockey fans will hate it and all non-hockey fans will continue to laugh at the NHL. Thanks, Commissioner Stupidhead!

Exactly! Hockey jerseys are great as they are. Why mess with them.

Me thinks this experiment will be like New Coke. Any of you old enough to remeber that fiasco?

Chris has already said he's hearing rumors of these changes being withdrawn.

That's not to say this is faulty information, but rather that it may be outdated if the NHL recently decided to scrap the plans.

The one I wanna believe is that the NHL is scrapping the plans, so I'm gonna, lol.

I, for one, at least want to see what they come up with before anything is scrapped. I'm no hockey traditionalist, so I'm open to at least evaluating change before making conclusions.

im not a traditionalist either, in fact im always open to new age design. however the uniform designs for the olympic teams was enough to tell me everything there is to know about the new design. Hopefully the swifties will be sent to the desktop recycling bin and be deleted to be never ever seen again.

If they change the jerseys for every team in the league, doesn't that give the athletic edge to....nobody?

--Roger "Time?" Clemente.

All I know is that Sweden won the gold medal in their cumbersome, heavy, non-aerodynamic, sweat-logged jerseys, so the whole athletic advantage thing can't have too much significance.

Ive also heard rumors of that from a few other sources that i feel are reliable, other than Chris.

I wish we knew what happened at those GM Meetings a few weeks ago...anybody know anything more that what has already been said?

Is the Chris you speak of the one who runs this site? If so i'd like to know more about the NHL scrapping of the new jerseys...

I just want to see the Sabres Jersey Redesign!

Excellent point! :D

I hadn't thought about that.
