FiddySicks
Foxsports.com articlefrom Mapleleafs.comLet me be the first to give a very emphatic WOOT WOOT!!!! To this one. There isnt a professional athlete i hate more than Eric Lindros. Hopefully he'll make the first good decision of his career and hang em up. Neon_Matrix
He'll be back... he has been VERY popular with the fans here, so I can see Fergie throwing him another contract, most likely one similar to the one he currently has. I'd love to see him back because while he may be a little more brittle these days, he has played WELL for parts of this season, especially at the beginning when we were without Sundin. I don't love him, but I don't hate him, I just think hes a talented athlete with alot of flare to him.

Neon_Matrix
No reason to bring him back, 2006/07 will (should) be a rebuilding year in Toronto... salaray cap killed us. Killed is an understatement. It MURDERED US. I really dont know what to expect of the Leafs next season, and am out of ideas on if they will be buyers or sellers this week, if they think they can somehow chase the 8th playoff spot (which I am dobuting more each day...). Sure they played well last night, better then they have in awhile, but its too little too late, especially against an Ottawa squad thay played like it didnt care if it won or loss. I know we have some great youthful players in our system (Steen, Stajan, Wellwood, White, Coliacavo, Wojanowski, Pogge, Rask, Tellqvist) but there is not any players, besides Pogge and Rask who have the ability to carry a team, and if we get a good draft pic this year, we may be in a better position for getting a number 1 forward or d. Oh well...my Petes are doing well (even though they have lost 3 of their last 4...) but hey, Jays season starts soon...

Neon_Matrix
Lindros is a led anchor on any team hes not good enough to build around and hes broken down. I kno, and he played that roll PERFECTLY here, and I will be sad if he goes. He's finally realised he's taken his entire career for granted, and if you saw the post game interview last night, he almost broke down in tears because he knows his chances of returning are slim to nill. I feel bad for the guy, would love to see him back, but if Fergie doesnt see hes worth the risk or money, then I wouldnt be surprised to see him retire... That may be true but it will take Pat Quinn and the Leafs at least 5 years to realize it. PAt Quinn will play him until he literally comes apart at the seems, and Tie Domi needs a set of crutches to get around on the ice. Quinn hates playing young guys, and young guys are the only thing Tornto has left now.all of their vets are tanking, and they can't afford other guys Quinn would want. The Leafs need a new coach who will start to develop some of these young guys. I doubt Belfour will return either, so they'll need Telquist in net or sign someone new.
Avenger
Lindros has done only one good thing for hockey, at least as far as I'm concerned- being a prima dona and helping Quebec/Colorado build a team into a Stanley Cup winner.Never was there a more over-rated player in the game of hockey. CC97
Lindros started off pretty hot here this season... and I still don't consider this signing a failure, it's not like we signed him to a 5 year $35 mil contract, it was like 1 yr, $1 mil, no biggie. Would you be with me in wanting the Leafs to do the same for next season with him? And what about O'Neill, can we give him another chance?

Shumway
The fact that it took him nearly his entire career to learn that you don't skate down the middle with your head down is a shame. I think it's time for him to be "the next one" to hang em up. I award myself 10 points for the pun.
Seadragon76
And I shall jack those 10 points because that was a lame pun.Oh, and good riddance to an overrated, oft-injured washout of a dud in Lindros.
