I think you two fine blokes misunderstand me.I'm not complaining.I'm making fun of the Star Wars-esque obsessiveness of some of our fellow board members, which may or may not include yourselves.Of course, since the very last people who like to hear jokes about being obsessive about stuff are the very people who are obsessed, I understand the consternation.Carry on. Tease, exaggerate, and parody if you want, for sure. We have a lot of fun around here with that sort of thing. We enjoy it.Though we generally tend to use humor in the form of exaggeration, so as to make people laugh, which clues people in that we were kidding.Just a theory. Krona
These may noy be as bad as some of the other new designs, but i see a bad trend in the NFL. Every league has seen the revolutionary design in logos and unis. baseball had the 70s: Astros, Padres, light blue roads and yellow bananas for the A's and Pirates. the NBA had a few bad periods, most recently the 90s: Hawks giant bird, Rockets pajamas, Raptors tragedies. they all cycle through and stabalize for a few years until someone gets fancy with a design. the NFL is no different. The return to tradition has already trickled in and in 10 years, the Falcons, Vikings, and Broncos will be wearing theyre classic style uniforms. In 5..4..3..2..1
A guy over on the fanhome board made an interesting point , he thinks that the new number font will be the same as the 27 in April 27 on the billboard , i could definitely see that as a good thing
WSU151
I didn't even think about that, but it looks like that could very well be true. Good post...the 7's back that theory up as well. tajmccall
i heard a new number font too, but who knows. Could be a bit like the Rams Block, then unique numbers when they redesigned. Store 1 Store

Not quite sure what your saying, but...The Rams new jerseys were always supposed to have the unique font, and all fan jerseys have always had that font(well, I can't gurantee that some authentics weren't sold with block). For some reason the Rams wore block numbers ther first year of the new jerseys though. What I've heard is that the team wanted to keep some connection to the uniforms they won it all in. BBTV
Except that the block on the Rams first new jersey was different than the block on the SB jerseys (Especially the 2s.) Didn't someone say at the time that there was some legibility concerns by the league? Probably doesn't make sense since the current font was the proposed font and it is perfectly legible. I know the league did that to the Jags at one point. Yeah, but I could still see the players seeing a block font as a block font regardless of the fact that it was a different one.I don't know about legibility concerns.
