I think all the team unis and logos for the Golden Baseball League were designed by two people; Dan Simon I think was one of them.

Dr. Kelso: My son is a big baseball fan. Not so much playing it, but more the designing and sewing of uniforms.

Tyler: That's neat.

Dr. Kelso: No, it's not.

In conjunction with Studio Simon, we did all of the identities and uniform designs for the Golden Baseball League - including the expansion Reno Silver Sox.

In addition to the GBL, we did all of the identities in the now defunct USPV (four or six teams, I can't recall exactly) - a women's professional volleyball league based in the mid-west.

Joe - as in Joe Bosack? Wow, quite a pleasure. I am sorry that I blanked on your name in my above post. The Reno Silver Sox are among the best branded sports teams in any league. Tremendously well done.

Edit: I also enjoy your Alaska Aces, Bucknell and Akron work. Also, living in PA and spending much time in the Lancaster area, I see a ton of people wearing Barnstormers gear, especially t-shirts.

I'm wearing a Barnstormers shirt right now and I'm not even in Lancaster! Actually I love the wordmark the team uses.

The Intense Football League (lasted one season--all teams in Texas-and it's indoor) looks like all the logos came from the same place--I can't verify that--but they look that way.

Comic Sans walks into a bar, and the bartender says, "Sorry, we don't serve your type here."

wait, what the hell? Reno has a Minor League baseball team and i didnt know about it? When the hell did this happen?!?!?!

EDIT: well, i did a bit of research and it looks like the Reno Silver Sox are new for 2006 in the GBL. Also looks like theyll be playing in the same stadium where the old Reno Chuckers/Black Jacks played. I cannot believe this one slipped by me. Ill have to catch a few games this season. Funny too, bill pierce Motors are the main owners, theyre a HUGE local dealer.

Similarly, I 'm pretty sure that all of the logos, uniforms and such in the 1974 WFL were done by one firm. Except for the Birmingham Americans, they all had a standardized uniform and helmet striping style, and wore the same color pants home and away. I read somewhere that it was Sand-Knit who did the uniforms....

If you look in the background of this promo shot of league founder Gary Davidson from a program cover, you can see all the uniform designs for the league on the wall behind him in a standardized format.

That helps to reinforce that it was a one-firm design deal.

It is what it is.
