I have spent years looking for a copy of it with no luck until recently, when I found this item on eBay.Are there any other fans of this design? Does anyone else remember it? Does anyone have a @#$%&* nice printed copy of this they would like to share? I would dearly love to get some good scans of this. Thanks for looking
leopard88
I remember, but I can't say I'm a big fan of it. I can't help with tracking down a printed copy. Sorry. leopard88
and the fact they can clog arteries shouldn't help.Because they alone among fast food restaurants serve fat-laden, unhealthy food. (and, yes, I know the Monster Thickburger is in a category of its own). I lived in Middle Tennessee from 1974-1978 and they used it then, in Tullahoma. We have the new script in East Tennessee now. It's not bad, I don't think. FiddySicks
Anyone wanna explain to me why the restaruant is called Hardees out east and Carls Jr. out in my neck of the woods? oh and we dont have the Monster Thickburger either its... sacker12
Hardee's was a separate chain until Carl's Jr. bought them out several years back. However, all the company did was redo Hardee's logos to look like the Carl's Jr. logos.
winters in buffalo
Anyone wanna explain to me why the restaruant is called Hardees out east and Carls Jr. out in my neck of the woods? Because after Carl's Jr. bought Hardee's in 1997, they didn't change the name, just the logo. A lot of chains do that when they merge. They keep the local brands (regional, in this case) as separate identities, but combine all of the back-office corporate functions.
FiddySicks
Ahh. Seems expensive to me, but maybe not. Thanks guys. On 11/19/2012 at 7:23 PM, oldschoolvikings said: She’s still half convinced “Chris Creamer” is a porn site.)
Cujo
For some reason, when I think of Hardee's, I think of that hot orange rig from the Days of Thunder movie.

I still remember getting the little miniature race cars from that movie at Hardee's when the movie came out. I remember having several Mello Yello cars. And apparently always have been. How these clowns stay alive kinda befuddles me. Are you kidding me? Have you ate at Hardees in the past 5 years? If so, you would probably also call your remarks REALLY stupid and uninformed. I would step out to say that of all fast food burger chains, Hardees definitely has the highest quality and best tasting burgers of anyone.About 7-10 years ago they sure seemed to be going down and had a very trashy appeal to them...but now, you can't beat their burgers. Most sit down restaurants can't even beat them. Yes, they aren't healthy for you but hell- who goes to a fast food restaurant for healthy food?Hardees did something a lot of other chains have neglected to do: specialize. The ones who aren't are beginning to decline (eg Burger King). Almost 90% of Hardees have scrapped fried chicken from their menus (except for in the heart of the South where I live- most still have chicken) and gone to nothing but high quality angus beef burgers.Trust me, you are sadly mistaken or just haven't tried Hardees in the past decade. Actually make me laugh.
sc49erfan15
I agree, Hardee's really appeared to be going downhill a while back, but they really stepped their game up recently. Six months ago, I ate there for the first time in probably 7-8 years, just because I was in a hurry and there's one a few businesses down from where I work. Beat any fast-food burger and most sit-down burgers I'd ever had.And the Days of Thunder car was good stuff, but like Pagan said, it doesn't touch this. Show me...Cale Yarborough! And I haven't seen the blue & orange so much since they've changed, but there was definitely a Hardee's up in Charlotte that until the mid-90's, still had the white wordmark with short, wide letters. Can't find a pic, but it was apparently the one used in between the one on the patch that started this thread and the one on Cale's car above. Actually make me laugh.Amen! I think the change in Hardee's quality was caused in large part by their above-mentioned acquisition by Carl's Jr. I'm a Hardee's fan now too, but that's because I come from out West, where we have Carl's Jr. A few years ago when I got to the Twin Cities and saw the smiling star but on a Hardee's, I had to try it out to see if it was the same as what I was used to. I was disappointed that it wasn't quite the same as Carl's Jr. so I didn't bother to go back until last year. The second chance did it for me--I noticed that the menu had changed so that it was substantially similar to that of Carl's Jr. and, more importantly, the taste was almost exactly the same. I try not to eat too many burgers, but when I break down, Hardee's is the burger of choice. Visit my store on REDBUBBLE

Mingjai
A little off topic, but does the Carl's Jr./Hardee's logo remind anyone of this from Super Mario Bros.?The first time I saw a Carl's Jr. logo, I instinctively thought of getting the star to become invincible.
