tohasbo
I like the one from the Red Sox. It's very classy. Also I like some Yankees' rings. Thing of beauty.
Gothamite
Good catch, and thanks for the thread.I'd like to see the shanks - hard to evaluate with only a top view.Don't like the shape at all. But other than that, I like the design. One might actually wear this.Man o man, that Marlins ring is awful. The Red Sox ring is nice, though.Lelands is currently auctioning off a whole lotta rings. Might be interesting to compare:Lot 678. Gothamite
Then they have a couple League Championship rings:Lot 212. 1960 New York Yankees American League Championship Ring Lot 482. 1989 San Francisco Giants National League Championship Ring You can see more, including minor league baseball, NBA, Super Bowl, NHL, NCAA and NASCAR rings here.Just looking at those, there are some sharp rings. I like the home plate-shaped Yankee prototype and the 1989 A's ring especially. The 1989 Giants ring is fugly. The Green Bay Packers Uniform Database! Now in a handy blog. pooter
What an awful ring. It looks like someone took an old mood ring from the 70's and slapped a logo and some diamonds on it. I can't imagine how disappointing it must be to win "the ring" and end up with that. Sorry but that is one ugly World Series ring. I was listening to the A's and Yankees on XM tonight and the A's announcer called the White Sox rings "garish." I think it was a nice way of saying horrific. I could not agree with you more. That thing is hideous. I don't care if I had won the WS or not, I would not wear that thing.I am wondering if the players can design and get another one. footballfiji
In Response to the "Hard Fightin Soldiers" quote on the side of the Auburn Ring. It's actually refering to a gospel song that the team sung after each win. The song was brought by the team's Chaplain and was almost a motto. It was on a Commemorative T-Shirt:and on a DVD:and if the ring was in bad taste, or stupid to have in the first place. It was a promise to the team and Tubberville made good on the promise. Athletes get rings for a ton of accomplishments that you wouldn't even think of (Sweet Sixteens, Bowl Victories, etc). And although we weren't AP National Champions. We were Golf Digest, Eufaula Tribune, and People's Vote National Champions.More than anything it was a tounge-in-cheek comment on the season. Plainsman Parking Lot. Wouldn't they want to keep them? "Every morning in Africa, a gazelle wakes up. It knows it must run faster than the fastest lion or it will be eaten. Every morning in Africa, a lion wakes up. FiddySicks
Lot 436. 2001 Arizona Diamondbacks World Champions Ring and Presentation Box You see? Now why cant ALL Championship rings look like this? The teams logo surrounded by diamonds is the only way a championship ring should be done. I was so dissapointed when i saw that the Buccaneers Super Bowl 37 rings had the trophy on it rather than the flag logo. Jigga
I love it...all the bling, a nice clean logo, and it actually looks like a RING. dpnation
I agree, it's a lot cleaner and less cluttered than most championship rings - though overall I hate how gawdy and ugly most of these rings are (kind of like non-signet high school rings but even worse). Maybe it's just me but I don't really like men wearing ostentatious jewelry. I think the problem with the White Sox ring is the fact that it's an oval - which in my mind makes it look more feminine. I think it'd look better if it was a square shape.

DG_ThenNowForever
I just went to that website, and they're auctioning off, I guess, replicas of the rings? I doubt Kirk Gibson would need nor want to auction off his 84 ring. kom22
I have yet to see a thread regarding the White Sox World Series rings. ShlyKBMT
I would put the Yankee logo on the ring if I had beat them. On Monday night, Marlins VP Dan Jennings was sitting next to me in the press box. He was wearing the "B" version of that ring(Most people actually wear those) It was a little smaller plus "Marlins" and the fish were gold instead of diamonds.
