Will retro logos make a comeback?

I'm mostly talking about football, but this applies to all sports - with all the modernizing of logos, do you think teams will start switching back to older styles or at least more variety? Styles do change over the years and all these carbon copy NFL logos are starting to look stupid after a while.

Also, do you know of any pro team that has modernized, then gone back to their old logo?

The NY Jets

I for got about them - in their case, it was a good idea - the sleek jet wordmark just looked cheesy. I wouldn't really call it modern though, they started using that one in 1978.

Teams that should go back to their throwback logo.....Chargers, Broncos, Patriots and Eagles.

Add the Giants to that list. Although not an exact match, the logo they use now is very much similar to a logo they have used in the past.

As far as the rest of the NFL goes, I don't think we'll see anyone going back to previous logos anytime soon, if ever. Not too many teams actually have previous logos, and the ones who do are not likely to change.

The Eagle logo is better now. You can argue the Kelly Green thing but the logo is a big improvement.

Yeah the new/current logo is fine. I just wish the Iggles would bring back the silver - not charcoal like on the numbers - pants.

Buffalo Bills...sort of. They are rumoured to have asked the league for permission to go to the standing red buffalo and classic throwback uniforms full time for next season but were turned down. Hopefully they will keep trying!

While not a pro football example, from 1999 to 2004, BYU went through several iterations of their modern look before reverting in 2005 to the 1980s style uniforms and helmet logos (albeit in navy rather than royal blue).

Correct me if i'm wrong but did the Angels went back to their old uniform from the 60's from 1993-1996. ^_^

Also, I would like to see MLB bring back classic logos. Even though I starting to like it I would like to see the Astros with the H W/ star logo I think it's would look great with their current colors. B)

DEATH TO RETRO

Nobody's forcing you to read the thread, pal.

If you don't have anything helpful to add to the conversation, might I recommend just skipping over this one?

I can agree with ya on three of these. the last one, I'll just agree to vehemently disagree (the current ones are the mistake IMO) and move on. I did like the Cavs' late 90s colors, but the unis left a lot to be desired and to say the logo that went with it was bland is being nice.
