mhking
No, I don't talk much 'round here, time and work pretty well prohibit that. But in any event, I work for a television station in Atlanta, and got ahold of the new logo for the Chick-Fil-A Bowl (former Peach Bowl)...The news story tied to the unveiling is at http://www.11alive.com/sports/sports_artic...x?storyid=78312Opinions?M

NJTank
Peach Bowl was a great name there was no need to change it it was asponsored already that was enough.
Bleujayone
Rather than change the name of the bowl game itself, couldn't they have just called it something likeChick-fil-a presentsThe Peach BowlorThe Peach Bowlsponsored by...orChick-fil-a at The Peach Bowlthat way even if in a few years the sponsor changes the name of the game doesn't. Not just for this one but for all of these games with corporate names now. I mean Peach Bowl suggests a game in Georgia. Chick-fil-a could just as easily be a game played in an empty lot in back of a trailer park.

cajunaggie08
Isnt the story that Chic-fil-a offered to pay more money if they could rename th ebowl to just the chic-fil-a bowl. It is a sad day in college football. Who know show long it will be before there is no more orange bowl or sugar bowl.

KJTALBOT
I have an idea. Why not just call the game "The Peach Bowl"?Just because a sponsor pays someone to put their name on it, why do we have to change our behavior.I still call it Skydome, Comisky Park, etc.Try it. It's fun.
meetthemets
The logo kind of sucks. Looks like they just took a bunch of elements and threw it together. No continuity at all.

DG_ThenNowForever
I'm still at a loss to understand why players CAN'T be paid. Some rich old guys are making a lot of money off of their hard work. If I were a player that wasn't drafted but played a role in my school getting millions of dollars (like Jason White, for example), I'd be feeling pretty used. CS85
The NCAA is eventually going to sell it's soul and call the game McDonaldsball.I can see it now...The Notre Dame Fighting Investors of Nasdaq vs. Oregon Aflac Ducks in the McDonaldsball championship game here live at the Starkist Bowl in Niketown, Florida. yh
Interesting note - I believe this is the first time that conference affiliations have been incorporated into a bowl game's logo. Obviously the BCS games can't do that given the unpredictable mix of conference representatives and their places in the BCS standings. Other non-BCS bowl games would have a hard time listing both conferences since there are occasions when a conference doesn't have a sufficient number of bowl eligible teams to fill all their affiliated bowl slots. However, now that the Atlanta game gets the top non-BCS ACC team and the SEC sends no worse than its 5th place team, I guess it's safe to say each conference will have a bowl-eligible team to send. Cola
I guess Chic-Fil-A Peach Bowl just wasn't enough for them. It is a shame they removed the Peach Bowl because it's a pretty popular title and I think more people will be upset about it once they realize it come season.
