MLB Team Slogans

The majority of Major League teams use some sort of slogan on the banner of their official website in an attempt to promote its agenda.

I quickly went to all 30 websites and these are the slogans:

Angels - None.

Astros - Believe the buzz.

Athletics - A different brand of baseball.

Blue Jays - None.

Braves - None.

Brewers - None.

Cardinals - Welcome to baseball heaven.

Cubs - None.

Devils Rays - We come to play.

Diamondbacks - A new brand of baseball.

Dodgers - Think blue.

Giants - Your SF Giants.

Indians - None.

Mariners - None.

Marlins - None.

Mets - The team. The time.

Nationals - None.

Orioles - None.

Padres - On a mission.

Phillies - Red means go.

Pirates - We will.

Rangers - Every day is game day.

Red Sox - None.

Reds - The power of tradition.

Rockies - GenRation.

Royals - Your team. Your town.

Tigers - None.

Twins - Twins territory.

White Sox - None.

Yankees - None.

The A's and D-Backs use basically the same phrase. I believe the Blue Jays also used something similar last year. Why does Colorado spell "generation" incorrectly? Some are just stupidly vague like the Pirates' "We will." We will what? Lose 100 games?

Do you like them? Are they at all effective? Come up with one or a better one for your team.

The Phillies are currently using "Red Means Go," but the Cards used that slogan a couple of years ago.

So the Phillies basically got what they deserved for biting off of the Cardinals' phrase by being swept by St. Louis in the opening series of the year?

Every Yankees commercial ends with "Pride. Power. Pinstripes." so I'm surprised to see that the slogan doesn't feature prominently on their website.

Last year every commercial ended "2005 New York Yankees: Looking Back, Looking Forward."

I'm not really a fan of Houston's "Believe the buzz."  The players have their own motto for 2006, "Finish the job."  I like that one a lot better.

hey dude i really like your sig, that progression effect is cool (hurricanedavid)

and yes i borrowed the cardinals slogan for my sig because as a native St. Louisan I believe it to be true.

Some other ad campaigns the cardinals have had were pretty creative... I remember several years ago a commercial with a bunch of kids on a playground just staring at a basketball, and one kid goes "What is it?" and the announcer says

"Its definitely a baseball town"

"Baseball like it Oughta be" was another of my favorites.

Looks like the D Backs are trying to steal some of the A's thunder with that new brand of baseball thing. The A's have been using A different brand of baseball for a few years. Awesome commercials too.

Orioles have used "O, the Magic" which I think is decent. I like it because there is also a song called Orioles Magic.

Last season there were commercials usin "O, the Power" with any incredibely cheesey song. They used it after the Sosa trade. Not only was it stupid and corny, but incredibely inaccurate. Although we did have two players on 'roids.

I like the Reds" The Power of Tradition slogan". Cincinnati Reds new owner Bob Castelini came up with it I think. I think he has turned this ballclub around.

Wait until June before saying that, don't wanna jinx em again.

2 years ago we were running away from the division in May only to get the crap beat out of us the rest of the year.

Then again Arroyo does have as many homers as Griffey does.
