Just so it's clear, there are two people who will claim one, but not the other, of the East finals. Two people have both New Jersey and Carolina. For these people, they will be able to collect the bonus if the games total is correct for the team that wins. For instance, if you have Hurricanes in 6 and Devils in 7, and the Devils win in 6, you do NOT collect bonus points.

1st pool standings will be listed after the conclusion of the Flames/Ducks game.

It's OVAAA!! Exactly what I was hoping for, the Ducks to make another run for the Stanley Cup, and with Calgary out of the way, I think they're gonna end up in the finals again...

Why do the Sharks have to wait so late and get back to back games 1 and 2?

Well, Friday is booked with the WWE and Saturday is booked with a Sabercats game and the other option was to have the game at 11am on Saturday which no one would enjoy. So you start it on Sunday and go back to back.

Yay! I'm number one!

Now for my picks to go down in flames in the second round... ^_^

[Croatia National Team Manager Slavan] Bilic then went on to explain how Croatia's success can partially be put down to his progressive man-management techniques. "Sometimes I lie in the bed with my players. I go to the room of Vedran Corluka and Luka Modric when I see they have a problem and I lie in bed with them and we talk for 10 minutes." Maybe Capello could try getting through to his players this way too? Although how far he'd get with Joe Cole jumping up and down on the mattress and Rooney demanding to be read his favourite page from The Very Hungry Caterpillar is open to question. --The Guardian's Fiver, 08 September 2008

I predict Sharks d. Oilers in 5, Avalanche d. Ducks in 7, Senators d. Sabres in 6, Devils d. Hurricanes in 7. In the conference finals: Sharks d. Avalance in 6, Devils d. Senators in 6.

Stanley Cups Finals: Sharks d. Devils in 6.

Me thinks the Sabres/Sens series will be better than the SC Finals and all other series played from here on out.

Tonight's game was one of those situations where Buffalo didn't win the game....Ottawa lost the game!

Seriously:

1) a teammate tries for the empty net and misses it. What do you do when you pick up the puck. Skate around like a jackass or put it on net?

2) 20 seconds left and the team dumps the puck in your zone. Puck comes to rest on the back of your goal. You're the goalie, what do you do? Wait a bit to watch people fight for it, or freeze the puck and take the faceoff in your zone?
