Ever watch Pro Players in High School?

Here's my question, have you ever watched a pro player in the MLB, NFL, NHL, or NBA in High School? I have I went to Independence High School from 95-99 while Richard Jefferson went to Moon Valley back in the same hay day, he graduated in 98 and went to Arizona the next year. I saw him play Independence about 4 or 5 games and I will say I saw the potential for him to be a great. He dunked off of Mark Current who was one of my good friends back in high school and to this day I consider that his greatest play. Went to after game parties with my friends and he would be there, hung out with him many times and have to say, the coolest guy I have ever met. Still see him from time to time at in the offseason, or when he comes to play Phoenix. Ever know or see a Pro Ball/hockey player in highschool? Let me know

I saw LA Clippers point guard Shaun Livingston play in high school and grade school (we graduated in the same grade school class). He has been making those crazy passes and assists for a long time.

Connecticut players making a big splash on the pro levels are few and far between, but I saw two somewhat decent ones when they were in HS...

Marcus Camby -- he went to Hartford Public about the same time I was in HS (I was in HS from 89-93). Saw him play in the state tourney against Holy Cross of Waterbury and watched as he dunked over one of my friends during the course of the game.

Chris Drury -- caught a few Fairfield Prep hockey games while he was there.

While I never saw them play in person, I remember when Larry Hughes and Darius Miles were playing HS Bball here in the St. Louis area at CBC and East St. Louis High School respectively.

For what it's worth, I saw Al Harrington, DaJuan Wagner, and Eddie Griffin while they were all in high school, and I scrimmaged against William Green in football.

No star-level players from my high school YET, but we might get one eventually (Pops doesn't look too bad down there at GW.)

Dustin Salisbery went to my high school for a year, then transferred to a better basketball school. He's a guard(I think) for Temple. I'm not sure if he'll go pro, but he's started every year.

I saw Kris Wilson(TE for the Chiefs) play. I've also seen his parents at the local mall.

I saw Jeff Smoker play baseball. He's a quarterback in the NFL. He was drafted by St. Louis, but I have no idea where he's at now.

Aaron Herr(son of Tommy Herr) is in the Cardinals farm system as far as I know. He played against my older brother in high school.

There's a kid from my high school, Jeff Bianchi, in the Royals' system. He could probably be in the bigs within a few years, especially since he's with KC.

Although they never played, my uncle and one of my teachers in high school both tried out for the Phillies.

In my freshman year of high school i got my ass KICKED while attempting a trap block in practice against Seattle Seahawks Linebacker Garrett McIntyre. I was on my way in and he was on his way out, he agreed to play in a intra squad scrimmage before heading off to Fresno St. Funny thing was, a few years before that, I got in his way at a party when he was super drunk and he literally beat the crap outta me. Still to this day those were two of the most savage beatings ive ever taken.

He's still the Rams' 4th-stringer.

I went to the same High school as Grizzlies Forward Brian Cardinal. I was 5 years younger but I saw him play a couple times and was in a basketball camp with him.

Weird thing was he would just drain threes in HS. At Purdue he became Mr. Hustle or "Citizen Pain."

This is a stretch...but...

Current Blue Jays Color Analyst; Former Expo, Blue Jay, Phillie, Dodger, and Illini Catcher Darrin Fletcher went to a high school (Oakwood High in Oakwood, IL) in my conference years ago. I only mention it because local lore was that he once hit a home run at my home field that hit the country road. Considering that the left field fence was 330 away and the road another 100, not too bad for an 18 year old future major leaguer.

Tim Rattay (now with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers) went to my high school and his dad is the current football coach at the school. I know he isn't a superstar or anything, but considering I went to a private Christian school of less than 1,000 kids its pretty cool I think.

My freshman year of high school I got a chance to play a varsity game just because of injuries and we had to play against Taravella. I was a running back, their starting linebacker was Carolina Panthers LB Dan Morgan. I weighed 128 lbs. Let's just say Dan...didn't.

1985 and 1986 is sat in the stands when my cousin's high school football team (Woodham) played against their rival, Escambia.

Escambia had a short-ish RB who seemed to gain 7 yards every time he touched the ball, unless he ripped off a 30-yard TD run.

His name was Emmit Smith.

I played with some future major-leaguers at Georgia Tech, but that was college, and thereby not on topic.

i was plunked in the back by Pat Hentgen when he was a senior and i was a freshman.

that's wicked

Living in a jr. hockey town i've seen a bunch as teenagers... mike ricci, owen nolan, jason arnott, chris pronger, brett lindros, chris gratton, marc savard, bryan berard (in a red wings uniform), nathan horton, eric staal, richard park (saw too much of him), jason spezza, matt stajan, stephane yelle (had lunch with him in '92), and even got to see mike danton a few times when he was known as mike jefferson

Eric Lindros played here, but he left for the NHL just prior to me moving here... skunt

Unfortunately that's all there is in town, so I can't say the same about any other sport.
