mightynine Posted May 30, 2006 Posted May 30, 2006 From the selection here, it's looks like the idea is to either put the old logo in the current colors, or use the current logos and put 'em in retro colors.Makes the Blue Jays hat look great, IMO:Not a lot of teams - or sizes available. Am I mistaken and this a style from years past and they found some extra somewhere?
LEWJ Posted May 30, 2006 Posted May 30, 2006 that is beautiful. | BROWNS | BUCKEYES | CAVALIERS | INDIANS |
nwtrailtrekker Posted May 30, 2006 Posted May 30, 2006 i must be losing it, cause i really think the m's should wear that hat on sundays or something.bet theyd lose every sunday game the entire year!
CubsFanBudMan Posted May 30, 2006 Posted May 30, 2006 I think I'd prefer this (in a non-washed out royal blue):as a Cubs BP. I always liked that 1914 cap but never bought it. I like it better in their current colors.
Gothamite Posted May 31, 2006 Posted May 31, 2006 I saw a guy on the street in Boulder the other day with what appeared to be an adjustable Franchise (what do they call that? The Closer?) Brewers cap in current team colors. I almost stopped him to ask where he got it, but decided against it.EDIT: found it. It's called the Clean-up:http://www.lids.com/pid/20047361 The Green Bay Packers Uniform Database! Now in a handy blog.
QuarterRoy00 Posted May 31, 2006 Posted May 31, 2006 I saw a couple other Brewer caps at a local Lids store here in the Twin Cities that had the ball & glove in current colors. The hats themselves didn't look so hot, but the logo looked pretty sweet.
yankeesmarc923 Posted May 31, 2006 Posted May 31, 2006 love the look of the washed out style of hats in general. the braves cap in this particular style is also cool looking.
TwoRsAndTwoLs Posted May 31, 2006 Posted May 31, 2006 i must be losing it, cause i really think the m's should wear that hat on sundays or something.bet theyd lose every sunday game the entire year! The Mariners released something like that in 1997, limited edition. I managed to pick one up, and it was my favorite cap for a long time. I'll take a pic tomorrow if I can find a digital camera. And let's face it, it's not like losing every Sunday would be a change or anything. Every Fifth Day is a
SoxSteeler Posted May 31, 2006 Posted May 31, 2006 that astros hat is awesome. the current unis with the old colors would be great.
Perfect Zero Posted May 31, 2006 Posted May 31, 2006 Golly, there's something about that Blue Jays hat that makes it fifty times better than the current one. No black, and a hint of red. That is what they need back, their old colors (and I guess championship players, they may also need that).
dirwuf Posted June 1, 2006 Posted June 1, 2006 This is sort of OT, but this thread might be as close as I ever get...I'd love to get a black cap, with the White Sox script, that says "CUBS". Would raise a few eyebrows and be a great conversation starter.
HatManTC Posted June 2, 2006 Posted June 2, 2006 i like that design. the braves one is the only one of the set i am not particularly liking. by RoscoeUA by gingerbreadman
HatManTC Posted June 2, 2006 Posted June 2, 2006 Not a lot of teams - or sizes available. Am I mistaken and this a style from years past and they found some extra somewhere? give it a couple days and their will be more sizes. they put them up as they come into the wharehouse. and take them off as soon as they sell out of a size. by RoscoeUA by gingerbreadman

And there appear to be more sizes available today when I checked. For those of you whose head can fit in those sizes - have at it! (My size 8 head envies you.)

Any idea where I can (affordably) get a hat like this made up? I don't think there's any copyright violations here...
Bouj Posted June 5, 2006 Posted June 5, 2006 that astros hat is awesome. the current unis with the old colors would be great. The Lids stores in Houston have this cap in both the navy (80's) and orange (70's)incarnations. Both are labeled Cooperstown Current. I think I will be picking one up.I'm not sure how many teams this would work for, since it would need the team to have radically changed the logo or the color scheme. Of the top of my head, it wouldn't work for the Padres, because the current "SD" is nearly identical to the one they wore in the 80's. But I am all in favor of more of this style. Go Astros!Go Texans!Go Rockets!Go Javelinas!
Gothamite Posted June 5, 2006 Posted June 5, 2006 I'm not sure how many teams this would work for, since it would need the team to have radically changed the logo or the color scheme. So that would limit it to the majority of teams in MLB. The Green Bay Packers Uniform Database! Now in a handy blog.
Korkie Posted June 5, 2006 Posted June 5, 2006 Now that is a Blue Jays cap. The logo looks great with those colors. Down with the Black Jays. cranium Posted June 6, 2006 Posted June 6, 2006 I gotta say that I like the orange astros hat, the Orioles hat, the A's Hat, and the Jays hat the best. I wish that they had made the Nats hat a full pinwheel like the Expos had for so many years. . . . Cubs in Sox colors. I'd like to see that with the font style of the `1980 sox.
