LogoFan Posted November 10, 2003 Posted November 10, 2003 My wife and I were watching tv last weekend (yeah, I'm reeeeeaalllyy late with this one; work is, well, working me to death), and I spotted something interesting. On a WWE commercial, they had some guys running around wearing football uniforms...and they were that of the defunct Chicago Enforcers. McMahnon was in the commercial too. I know, kinda "so what?", but I thought the Enforcers had nice unis for their league...it was good to see them one last time. Anyone else see this (I only saw it once)?
MidwestEagle Posted November 10, 2003 Posted November 10, 2003 Yeah, It's a commercial For the WWE Survivor Series PPV. shows a real lazy football team dressed like the Chicago Enforcers and then a bunch of wrestlewrs walk on to the field and kick the crap out of the players. Vince McMahon is watching through binoculars from a limo and says "The WWE and football....Nahhhh!". It's a great cheap shot at himself for the failure of the XFL.
NJTank Posted November 10, 2003 Posted November 10, 2003 Yeah I thought that was funny too. The XFL will go down in history with the Ford Edsel, and New Coke as the worst coperate ideas of all time. www.sportsecyclopedia.com For the best in sports history go to the Sports E-Cyclopedia at http://www.sportsecyclopedia.com

GMac Posted November 12, 2003 Posted November 12, 2003 Yeah I laughed my ass off at that commercial, its good to see McMahon has a sense of humour about the "future of football".... and I agree the enforcers had a nice look... the netire XFL had some pretty nice looks... just there was alot of Black.... yh Posted November 12, 2003 Posted November 12, 2003 What is Bre-X?Bre-X was a Canadian company that sold stock based on their representations that they had discovered and owned a controlling interest in a cache of gold in Indonesia - supposedly the largest gold mine ever discovered. The only problem was that there was no gold. Small technicality to be sure. The company was worth billions and the stock went through the roof, however once the hoax was cracked, the stock plummetted not overnight, but more like within a couple of hours. I think it actually shut down the stock exchange in Toronto.
Puckguy14 Posted November 13, 2003 Posted November 13, 2003 Why make fun of my beloved XFL? That ******* McMahon ruined me. I had a guaranteed job for the 2002 season, to just close out shop so he can buy WCW and ECW. Damn you Vince McMahon damn you! And that's the bottom because you can smell that Puckguy is gonna lay out the can of whoop-@$$ if I see him again. 2004 San Jose Sharks 7th Man Fan of the Year San Jose Gold Miners - 4x Lombardi Cup Champions
TruColor Posted November 13, 2003 Posted November 13, 2003 Yeah, I had pretty much the same attitude back in '89 when Jerry Jones fired me (along with a bunch of other guys)......he STILL owes me money...
NewYawkSeahawk Posted November 13, 2003 Posted November 13, 2003 Yeah, I actually has to pause my DVR cause I thought they looked familiar.I liked the enforcers jerseys, and I liked the Demons too! www.briandoakes.com
Puckguy14 Posted November 13, 2003 Posted November 13, 2003 Yes, the Demons jerseys (while the front looked like a Broncos ripoff) was very cool. To this day, I am known as the only person to have a piece of a game-worn XFL jersey. Champion supposedly has them. 2004 San Jose Sharks 7th Man Fan of the Year San Jose Gold Miners - 4x Lombardi Cup Champions
