leopard88
They did. Here is a picture of the four 20 game winners (Jim Palmer, Mike Cuellar, Dave McNally, Pat Dobson) from 1971: You beat me to it. Legend has it that the uniform made Boog Powell look like a large pumpkin, thus they were never seen again. One thing I should note is that I've never seen an action shot of that uniform. The only picture I've ever seen is this one (which, from the Crown sign on the mezzanine, appears to have been taken at Memorial Stadium). zuck
Ok. I rarely post here just lurk. One day in August 1971 when I was 7 I was quite sick one Friday. My dad came home, and woke me up on the couch I had been sleeping on. I asked what time it was he said 8, I asked him to turn on Popeye, he said 8 at night, he turned on the Yankee game and there they were playing the Orioles. And the Orioles were wearing all organge uniforms. Only other thing I remember was Jake Gibbs getting called out at first and Ralph Houk going crazy. allie2002ca
According to www.retrosheet.org, that game between the Yankees and Orioles took place on August 6, 1971!
leedsunited
I had an old Boog Powell card that clearly showed an orange shirt and orange pants. Considering his ample girth, he looked ridiculous.

Did you also happen to notice that the hat in the game is wrong? If you zoom in, you can accually see that there is the Anaheim Angels logo behing the happy bird logo. Its gotta be one of the most glaring video game glitches ive ever seen. On 11/19/2012 at 7:23 PM, oldschoolvikings said: She’s still half convinced “Chris Creamer” is a porn site.) winghaz
Now that's the way stirrups on baseball uniforms should look. No, they don't have a function. But they are part of the baseball look, and this particular look in stirrups should be brought back.
