IceCap Posted November 16, 2003 Posted November 16, 2003 oh, ya. love the vintage ref jerseys. maby bring this style back (colors, not materials) to seperate hockey fom football in a uniform sense. (the dark at home and white at away is different from the nfl. there are no home or away in the nfl because the home team decides what they were at the biggining of the season) PotD 26/2/12 1/7/15 2020 BASS Spin the Wheel, Make the Deal Regular Season Champion 2021 BASS NFL Pick'em Regular Season Champion
-kj Posted November 16, 2003 Posted November 16, 2003 Nah. While this is fun for a throwback night, the Blkues' current set is probably the best in the NHL. And, you'll notice the current set pays serious homage to these. Buy some t-shirts and stuff at KJ Shop! gosioux76 Posted November 16, 2003 Posted November 16, 2003 did the Kings wear black pants back when those were the regular unis? They look kinda off.
jkrdevil Posted November 16, 2003 Posted November 16, 2003 did the Kings wear black pants back when those were the regular unis? They look kinda off.Yes, both teams wore thier current pants.
appleclock Posted November 16, 2003 Posted November 16, 2003 Did anyone else like the blues jerseys of the 80s which had B L U E S written across the top above the bluesnote? I thought they were gonna use those ones for the vintages.
STL FANATIC Posted November 16, 2003 Author Posted November 16, 2003 Yeah, those jerseys were great, but the current jerseys are the best set in the NHL, and are based on these except with the small things fixed. JUSTIN STRIEBEL | PORTFOLIO | RESUME | CONTACT
DEAD! Posted November 16, 2003 Posted November 16, 2003 Can someone tell me how the vintage logo is different than the current logo? I saw, I came, I left.
STL FANATIC Posted November 16, 2003 Author Posted November 16, 2003 The Blues logo, called the BlueNote, a flying musical note, has changed a lot since the Blues came into the league in 1967-68, but has always had the same basic form. I've tried to do my best to assemble an evolution of the BlueNote. Not only are these logos probably a bit in accurate, their may have been even more modifications that I can't find. I'm gonna check my book Note By Note to see if they have an official evolution. JUSTIN STRIEBEL | PORTFOLIO | RESUME | CONTACT
-kj Posted November 17, 2003 Posted November 17, 2003 Did anyone else like the blues jerseys of the 80s which had B L U E S written across the top above the bluesnote? Those were horrible, actually. Not the jerseys themselves, which evolved into the style used for years just before they changed to the diagonal stripes. Those were nice jerseys, simple, perhaps a little plain in today's terms, but for the 80s, they were nice. But...WHY OH WHY did they need to slap "BLUES" across the jerseys, eh? Just a personal bias, I guess, but any good logo (which the Blue Note was, has been, is, and will hopefully remain) doesn't need the team name slapped across it. STL FANATIC Posted November 17, 2003 Author Posted November 17, 2003 I always look at those and like them in their uniqueness, but that's apparently just me. Away, for the most part I agree with you with the team name. And like how LA and Buffalo (on their alt) do it is terrible. However, all other sports do it (well, football sorta does with the under the neck thing) what makes it so bad in hockey? JUSTIN STRIEBEL | PORTFOLIO | RESUME | CONTACT
STL FANATIC Posted November 17, 2003 Author Posted November 17, 2003 By the way, if anyone needs it, I have vectorized the Blues current logo. I don't claim it to be perfectly accurate, but I have seen theSLE's, and strangely a different one on logo.nino, and mine is much more accurate. The way the artists of those went about constructing it with a stroke hurt the accuracy. It is the outlines as they get farther away from the royal blue portion that start to become inaccurate on mine.Anyway, mine's not perfect, but it is the best available vector that I know of. If anyone can give me a good case for why they need it, I'll be glad to share. JUSTIN STRIEBEL | PORTFOLIO | RESUME | CONTACT
