But from what I know, they are keeping everything the same for next season.Here in Az, there has been nothing unless the ownership group pull a big surprise after the all-star break. I hat the D-snake logo along with their batting practice hat logo. they will be changing, but not what you think, they will not be using their black caps, but they are going to try to transition in a black A cap for next year, they won't be getting rid of the D caps, but they won't be using them as much this year or next year. Sorry to burst any bubble that Dback logo haters have, but they are keeping them this next and for 2008 and 09. CubsFanBudMan Posted July 7, 2006 Share Posted July 7, 2006 Not a fan of another black cap... emphasizing the purple is a better way to go, IMO. However, the purple cap needed some tweaking. The logo doesn't show up very well from a distance. In that respect, a black cap with same logo would probably be an improvement, but I'd much rather see them update the purple. I didnt think so till i finally broke down and bought a road cap (trying to get at least one 59Fifty from every mlb team). Black hat, Gold D shaped snake with teal diamonds on its back, black outline (which suprisingly makes the negative space useful), purple drop shadow. Its great because it takes all that the Arizona D Backs are trying to get across and puts it into such a simple logo. I rate it along the same lines as the Texans logo for showing so much in such a simple logo. In fact, im so impressed with the road hat that my next 59Fifty will be the D Backs home hat, just because im intrigued to see if I can be as pleasntly suprised with that hat. Two things I would like to see the D Backs do though is bring back the purple D Batting helmets and fix up the grey road jersey. I, too, am trying to get one 59fifty from every team, and I have to agree on the D-Backs road cap. I got it last year and I love it. It's underrated, in my opinion.Another cap which I have that I really love is the D-Rays all green version that they seem to wear every game now. Very nice looking in person. I am not a Diamondbacks fan, but I appreciate the uniqueness of their look.Someone mentioned that the only people who would buy the D-backs hats are die-hard fans. So, if that's true, should the team switch to something more "acceptable" just to please non-fans? Doesn't seem right to me.I am personally much more of a fan of franchises that stick to their guns, even though they may not have the prettiest colors, or a new logo every 5 years. I remember when it first came out, and couldn't think why they would wear the aweful "A" hats with the great "D" one just sitting there.
