Dilbert
Okay I know the NIFL is a joke but this is confusing5th seed Cincinnati Marshals were supposed to play at the 4th seed Osceola Football on July 8 in the opening round of the playoffs however Silver Spurs Arena in Osceola was booked all weekend with a rodeo. The game was moved to Cincinnati on such short notice that US Bank Arena could not host the game as they were already setting up for a Faith Hill/Tim McGraw concert. So they moved the game again on even shorter notice to Lakeland, Fla for July 10. However the Marshals told the NIFL they could not make the trip on such short notice, because the players have normal day jobs, and travel issues. Osceola was given a forefit victory and would move on to play at the River City Rage July 15 at the Savvis Center. However, Osceola did not file the propper paper work in time to play. So now officially Saturdays game will be the Cincinnati Marshals at the River City Rage.DID YOU GET ALL THAT?! How crazy and effed up is the NIFL? agentrygraphics
Osceola's team is called the "Football"? "This isn't just the Oregon Ducks, it's Football's Future Turf Soldier War Hero Steel Robot Tech Flex Machine Army." -CS85
Dilbert
Last year the Football were called the Kissimmee Kreatures, they changed their name in the offseason to the Osceola Outlaws. However the team in Billings known last year as the Mavericks were known as the Outlaws in previous years and they were going to revert back to the name this season. There would be two teams called the Outlaws. Billings won the battle and got to keep the name. Osceola just simply called themselves the Footballhttp://www.osceolafootball.com/ Signature intentionally left blank
yh
What a mess. According to Osceola's website, the forfeit was awarded to Cincinnati because the league wanted the Marshalls-Osceola game to be contested in St. Louis on the 14th -- THE NIGHT BEFORE THE SECOND ROUND GAME!!! Osceola refused to adhere to that admittedly insane condition. The team website also stated that the "paperwork" issue was not related to the forfeit - the NIFL wanted the Osceola team to sign a non-compete clause that would essentially lock them into the league through 2008 and the team refused to sign. What one has to do with the other is beyond me.In any event, I hope that the Rage beat whomever winds up coming to St. Louis on Saturday, win the NIFL title and then work on getting af2 status for next season. Well you have a reasonable chance on defeating Cincinnati. The Rage are 5-1 all time against Cincy. However the only loss for the Rage to Cincy was in the playoffs last year.
