Recommended Posts

I got the idea to create a made up leauge in Pennsylvania consisting of teams located in suburbs of Pittsburgh & Philadelphia and other small towns here in PA.

Its split up like this.

WETSERN LEAUGE

Penn Hills Indians {my home suburb}

Monroeville Angels

North Hills Flame

West End Legends

DuBois Kings

Warren Bears {my dad's hometown}

Oil City Oilers

Erie Lakers

Carnegie Workers

Squirrel Hill Sqruirrels {obvious name, eh?}

Shaler Greenbacks

Sewickley 66'ers {named after famous resident Mario Lemieux}

EASTERN LEAUGE

Wilkes Barre Lions

Scranton Steamers

Gettysburg Brigade

Allentown Union

Hazelton Pilots

Tyrone Stars

Lebanon Cedarjacks

Norristown Lightning

Downington Dukes

Valley Forge Patriots

Doylestown Tigers

Spring-Ford Isotopes

Lancaster Amish

And here are the teams I got so far...

Penn Hills Indians

Monroeville Angels

West End Legends

North Hills Flames

DuBois Kings

Warren Bears

Neither are bad at all, methinks, and done pretty well. I like the Monroeville hat. The only thing I hope to see in the upcoming ones is maybe a more diverse group of font types and perhaps a different alt style.

Take your pick (if your league is based on population or market size, though, 80% of your teams would be East division teams!)

Some notable ones (off the top of my head):

Doylestown

Horsham

Abington

West Chester

Downingtown

King of Prussia

Conshohocken

Havertown

Springfield

Norristown

Bristol

Valley Forge (more of a region than a town)

Bryn Mawr

Ardmore

Spring City (for jkorkie's benefit)

And, I know it isn't quite a Philadelphia suburb, but what about Easton. :D

BTW, you have your East and West messed up in the original league lineup.

Thank you my friend. You are a gentleman and a scholar.

Also, I propose that the Spring City/Royersford team should be renamed the Spring-Ford Isotopes. 1.) to shorten the name 2.) the proximity of the Limerick Nuclear Power Plant.

Dr. Kelso: My son is a big baseball fan. Not so much playing it, but more the designing and sewing of uniforms.

Tyler: That's neat.

Dr. Kelso: No, it's not.

As a person who was born in Lebanon, I think Cedarjacks is a better team name. Bombers have nothing to do with Lebanon. Not that we have a lot of lumberjacks chopping down cedars, but the trees are how we got the name. Cedars is already the high school name.

I will have to postpone this project for a while because...

Between me getting stuck with helping my family in moving my sisters stuff outta the house and to her new apartment, along with then re-painting, cleaning, and arguing over the arrangement of my stuff in her room. Then moving the mountains of crap from my room into hers, not to mention all the school and religion stuff i'll be doing, my activity at this board is going to be pretty limited for the next few months.
