The proposed sabres logo is one of the ugliest things I could've imagined for a representation of the Sabres. Drew Celestino, a fellow Sabres fan, couldnt put up with this excuse for a logo, so he therefore created a site, www.fixthelogo.com, where he and others can attempt to put a stop to it. We can't control the men on the bench and we can't control the men in charge, but we CAN control the things they wear. Personnel decisions may be out of our hands, but we can stop them from wearing this.Sign the petition. Send it to all of your friends, including other forums. In 3 days, it has accumulated almost 7000 signatures. We can stop this ugly thing from ever seeing the light of day, and this is a damn good start. Sign it, and the true blue and gold may return. I don't think the logo is that bad. 2) I'm not going to protest a logo that hasn't been seen on uniform yet, even though I probably wouldn't anyways..because I care about how the players play on ice, rather than what they're wearing. 3.) Money is involved in this all. Yes, I know fans buy the merchandise...but to expect the Sabres to scrap whatever plans they have with this logo right now is totally inconsiderate. Changing uniforms isn't cheap...wtf, money doesn't grow on trees. Sabres aren't the richest organization in the NHL...and it's wrong to expect them to change because of crying.I think the petition this is good, don't get me wrong because people are fighting for a change (whatever). But like I said before, if petitions actually worked (online ones at that)...then we'd have a Slabyk logo and uniforms, and not the rumored logo. You should try reading my post better, because I wasn't dismissing any of that. I said that it's a good thing that people are petitioning, but I also said sadly nothing will become of it and also I stated why I wouldn't sign a petition. I said that I don't really have a problem with the logo...at the same time, I don't think this is the best possible logo that someone could have come up with. Personally...I don't think this is the logo (but thats for another post, at another time). The logo doesn't fit in with the team identity? I'd agree.....assuming that you're talking about the inclusion of actualy "Sabres". Besides there actually being Sabres involved with the logo, I don't see any other reason how it doesn't fit in with "team indentity" when the Sabres is the only thing in my eyes that goes with the identity of this organization (besides blue and gold). Correct me if i'm wrong, but the current jerseys didn't have Sabres in them either....hmm, so i'm guessing that didn't fit in with team identity either. At the same time, people didn't really think much of it because since wearing those uni's...the team has been successful for the most part (6 playoff appearances, 3 conference finals...1 cup finals...do you think people really cared about the lack of "Sabres"? (if that's the "team identity" you speak of). I do see why people are angered, I honestly do...because with the team changing uniforms, this gave the opportunity to include the things that were missing in the last uniform...but from what we have seen, that isn't included either...which is unfortunate. OK, he was being polite, no need to cuss him out. Secondly, you said...because I care about how the players play on ice, rather than what they're wearing....and so he has a point when he points out that this is a sports LOGO discussion forum. It's for people who want to discuss the logos, not how the players play. There are forums for that (even here) but this is the one where we discuss the logo. So feel free to come in and say you love or hate the Buffaslug, and feel free to come in and express your opinion that you think it'll look peachy keen on a uniform or it will look horrible, or that you do or don't think it's the "real" logo, or whether you think they're too far along in the process to turn back or not. Whatever... that's all about the logo and it's all welcome. But you start making "snive ass" comments about people who care about "what they wear" and you're not going to find too many friendly replies in this forum.
