Brian in Boston
The Continental Basketball Association has announced the launch of the Bellevue (WA) Nighthawks. The team will take the court in time for the 2004-2005 season. While the team name has been announced (meh...), a logo has not yet been unveiled. The Nighthawks will enter the CBA along with the previously-announced Muskegon, Michigan-based expansion team.Brian in Boston
Cianfrocco
Coming from someone born and raised in Bellevue, this was quite a shock. We're not exactly a huge city, and with Seattle only 5 minutes away, I never really saw the need for this, even though I first heard a rumour about it a few years ago. They are also planning on building a new arena downtown, nevermind the fact we are already out of room! For now they will play at Bellevue Community College, which is a step above a high school gym. smzimbabwe
Here's an article about it...http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html....19.htmlAnd the part of that article that people on this board may find interesting..."And while Tuckman isn't asking for the public's help in building the arena, he is asking them to help define a "Bellevue Nighthawk." He plans to have a public contest to design the mascot. The colors are already set ? purple, black and white."
