MLB changes for 2007?

1. Texas is royal and red.

2. "Navy or red or blue" are three different colors, not two.

3.  Houston's primary color is not black, it's brick (sand as the secondary).

4. The DRays primary color is green, not black (black secondary)

5. As "unique" as Arizona may be, it's hideously ugly and very outdated.

Personally, I think the D-Backs are making a mistake.

The continued homogenizing of professional (and collegiate) sports continues...

OK, Let's see:

1. Texas, OK, it's royal and red. Not much difference between royal and navy but still, that makes them the same colors as the Cubs.

2. Navy and royal are shades of the same color: blue, it's obvious that blue or navy and red are the predominant colors in baseball.

3. Houston Astros (1965 through present)

Franchise Colors

2000 through present: Black, Brick, Sand, White

it's clear that the main color is black, as the hat is black except for some days in which it is brick, but for the most part, the hat is black.

4. Tampa Bay Devil Rays (1998 through present)

Franchise Colors

2001 through present: Black, Green, Blue, White

the same with the DRays, black is the main color, green is the accent color.

5. "Hideous Ugly" is clearly a subjective opinion, for you it looks ugly for others it looks nice, especially because it is unique, which IMHO is not a subjective opinion. The reason to have colors is to easily distinguish one team from the other. Having them all wear navy or royal or red doesn't help in distinguishing teams.

In NFL, you have a lot of color variety. You can't imagine the Vikings ditching purple. Or the Packers adding black to their green-gold combo. Or the Browns changing to Navy-Red. Or the Dolphins ditching their aqua-orange combo. They are unique, why can't MLB have some of that uniqueness too.

Obviously you've never seen a Tampa Bay Devil Rays uniform:

They do, however, wear a black batting helmet.

DM-

Glad you are back.

The continued homogenizing of professional (and collegiate) sports continues...True.

It's all about using the same thread colors, silkscreen inks and thousands of yards of fabric Reebok, Nike, adidas and now New Balance to unify their codes across the retail planet.

So as the Colts go to a deeper blue (whatever), the Vikings go to a more standard purple(yipes) and over and over and over, it saves the licensees hundreds of thousands of dollars in manufacturing costs to the detriment of a unique team branded color.

Okay...whatever!

Can we move on now?

Back to the point of the topic... the Diamondbacks could be making a huge mistake if they base the entire uni on maroon and tan. They need to get a nice combo of maroon (brick red or whatever) tan (sand I guess) and black or they will suffer.

Okay...did you really just admit that you're actually banned here (and other sites) and that you're basically sneaking around here under a different name?

Alrighty. We may have a new winner for the "Stupidest Move Ever" here on the boards.
