Max Power
hmmmmm...another team with brick red? Who could it be? I'm going to say the White Sox add it, replacing silver. That would be unexpected. Red would look sharp as an accent to the black logo, as seen on the 1959 jersey. But I think the Sox are content with their current look and to leave red to the Red Sox. BrianVlietDesign
The brick red won't be w/ the Rays. It wont be a team with fire engine red (Cards, Phils, Nats). I'm assuming it'll be a team thats making a change. The D-Backs could be this team. 2 of 3 teams in the Phoenix area wear a shade of brick red (Coyotes, Cards), wouldn't surprise me. The owner of the D-backs has already repeatedly said that they will NOT be changing the colors of the team, which I agree with. The D-Backs have colors that are unique to them and the area.My guess is the Devil Rays because we've already heard that they are in the process of doing an image overhaul. They'll probably drop the "Devil" and become the "Tampa Bay Rays" as the always should have been. I think a Brick red and gold with light blue accent would be a nice change. Isn't Tampa supposed to be the Tarpons are something? NYCFC - MLS CUP CHAMPIONS - 2021
Carlisle1974
I've seen it mentioned in the Cincinnati Enquirer a few times this season that the Reds will be replacing black with navy blue. I've also heard that the use of the navy blue won't be nearly as extensive as the black in the current uniform sets. Bob Castellini (the new owner of the Reds) is really into the "tradition" of the franchise (this year's slogan is "The Power of Tradition") and it's been said that he doesn't like the black at all. The navy blue would bring back memories of the old unis they wore in the 50'- early 60's (not sure of exact dates).

And yeah, of course I knew that. Chalk that one up to error, Bouj. If I didn't know that, how could I have made this statement? Heh, brain fart! I always like the Devil Rays logos and stuff. I hate the name. They should just shorten it to Rays. But, it's not like it matters anyways. Tampa has never had a good season and they probably won't for a long time. NYCFC - MLS CUP CHAMPIONS - 2021
dfffd61
I wish Houston would wear the Brick Red hats more often, like with the Brick Red jerseys. I wish they would ditch the black altogether. They should wear the non-pinstiped uniform at home, the road, and the alts, all with the red cap.
Dark Angel
I was in Denver last month and my Uncle told me that the Rockies is going to get rid of the pinstripe next season so it could be the Rockies.
The_Admiral
Why don't the Reds use The Power Of Tradition to bring back the minimalist 70s uniforms worn by one of the best teams of all time, then? White and red, grey and red.Scully also wanted names on the Dodgers shirts. The Cubs should follow suit, because it's not as if a team with Carlos Marmol, Juan Mateo, Roberto Novoa, Sean Marshall, and Ryan Theriot is so larger-than-life and established with the fanbase that they're too good to remind you what their names are. Plus it just looked better. ♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫
Lumbergh
I was in Denver last month and my Uncle told me that the Rockies is going to get rid of the pinstripe next season so it could be the Rockies. no no my friend, it aint happening. The rockies have said many times the look works, and have maintained a look at home from the start of the team in '93. The purple, silver, and black are here to stay, as are the pinstripes. Yeah, but the only purple on the Rockies' home unis is the button on the cap, right?IF the Rockies chance anytime soon, I would hope they add more purple.I believe the CR is purple outlined in silver, and the pinstripes are actually purple too, though at first glance you'd assume black. DenverJ
I would be very, very suprised if they did away with the pinstripes. As stated above they have always worn pinstripes with the home uniform since the team began play in '93.The Rockies have a alternate Purple cap and jersey. However, the cap was seldom worn and they have not worn it for a few years now, and the Purple jersey has not been worn at all this season.. It was like they "stuck their toe in the water" by going with more Purple in their uniforms the last few years but, have now gone away from it.. I don't know. I never smoked AstroTurf. ~Tug McGraw, when asked if he preferred grass or artificial turf.
Lumbergh
yeah, the purples are almost completely gone. I still don't mind the two homw uniforms, the sleeveless "CR", and regular homes are very classic IMO. They seem to be wearing the sleeveless homes more and more, and the sleeveless blacks more and more. The aways are very nice, and a big improvement from the regular pinstripe-less ones in the beginning.

Original6
How about changing their playoff format so more than half the markets can maybe have a genuine interest in the months of August and September. 8 team playoff worked fine before there were 30 teams. They should atleast take the NFL playoff model (best of 7 ofcourse).
rmackman
The brick? You heard it here first: the Philadelphia Phillies. They've been cherry red since 1993 and won an NLCS right out of the box, but the uniform hasn't changed since (except for the occasional sleeve patch).I think they'll go a shade towards the cranberry they wore in the 70s and 80s. Perhaps this?Don't hold your breath. They ain't changing anything anytime soon. Unfortunately. That's too bad. I always liked their 80's unis: "Every morning in Africa, a gazelle wakes up. It knows it must run faster than the fastest lion or it will be eaten. Every morning in Africa, a lion wakes up. It knows it must outrun the slowest gazelle or it will starve. It doesn't matter whether you're a lion or a gazelle. When the sun comes up, you'd better be running." - Unknown | Check out my articles on jerseys at Bacon Sports
FiddySicks
They look way too much like the White Sox. Untill you accually watch them play the game. Then the differences are blatant. Absolutely, and that is the way it should be.There is a reason teams pop champaign for making the playoffs in baseball, but not in other sports. It actually means something. Up until recently, more than half the teams in the NBA and NHL made the playoffs. Baseball is a 162 game marathon, and it would be ridiculous to follow it up with 4 rounds of playoffs. After 162 games, the best teams are left standing. If you follow up 162 games with four rounds of playoffs, it trivializes the regular season. Gothamite
Agreed. The last thing I want baseball to do is adopt the MLS playoff structure - a MLS team could have a mediocre season, get hot and win a couple games at the end of the season and be in the playoffs. Each game has to mean something. ElwoodCuse
How about changing their playoff format so more than half the markets can maybe have a genuine interest in the months of August and September. This is a problem with the salary structure in baseball, not the playoff format.
