Actually Yale, it was "Brut" in the 70's as well. Same stuff. I see it on the discount aisle at Walgreen's for, what? $3 a gallon or so...

rtrich11
Associated Press-- The Sun Bowl has a new sponsor, the men's cologne Brut. John Hancock insurance company backed out of their contract complaining that the players smelled of body odor. The Sun Bowl committee was quick to contact Old Spice, which already had a commitment with the Stanley Cup. Brut was happy to seal a deal with the bowl as long as all players and coaches wear the cologne with the manly scent during the game. In response to this, the University of Texas at El Paso, where the stadium is, will be evacuated. cafepress.com/artbyrichards

dutyfree
There is nothing in that logo that says; "football game." I think I see a hamburger bun behind the Brut logo---maybe that's a reference to tailgating. Maybe that's the football connection.

winghaz
You know, at one time, it was actually pretty cool to wear Brut.Of course, it was also pretty cool at the time to wear loud blue plaid bell-bottom pants with a canary yellow shirt and platform shoes.By the way, that logo does look more like a hamburger bun than a football.
