National Team Uniforms

I have been playing around with uniforms for national teams lately and feel that some concepts are ready to see the light.

National teams do not have a great history but there is international competition. It however is an unsolved issue that noone wants to play a Team USA with NFL allstars. USA Football (governing body of football in the US) will most likely sooner or later send a team of amateurs.

I'll post some unis during the next few days.

Please notice:

- Some of the nations do not have a national team

- I only do back views if necessary

- Helmets and logos are side-products of the uniforms. I did not put too much effort into the design here.

- Some Uniforms are inspired by uniforms from other sports

- YES, there are some fonts and numbers I really do like...

- I'll post some comments to most concepts

C & C welcome!

Here we go:

Italia

The italians are nicked the blue team, similar to the azzuri in soccer.

Germany

The flames design is in part stolen from a club team. They use it in their logo but in a different way. I only used the flames for helmet and logo, parts I did not pay much attention to.

Austria

France

I bet you all know the basic design of the jersey. A crossover from the France soccer national team, right.

the french alternate is sick!! It's unique and that's always cool though I don't know how you could work in a tv number without 'breaking the flow' but it's damn good! I like the germany helmets also....way to think out the damn box

Italy: Good job all around

Germany: If there's one team that neeeds solids, it's Germany. Alles in ordnung, nein?. I'd go for solid black at home, solid white for away, and feldgrau for an alternate. I like what you did with the shoulder scheme, but I think it would look best with one color, like feldgrau, and line it with either white or black depending on the uniform. Do the same for the feldgrau alternates, but black shoulder work line in white. For a logo, I'd go with a simple Imperial Eagle or iron cross.

Austria: Das ist gut.

France: I honestly think your alternate should be your standard home jersey. Do a white version for away, and for the alternates do a red version and switch which way the swooches are going. As for the logo, I'd suggest a simple F in a style that goes with the home jerseys.

Overall, a very good effort; even the ones that I personally think need improvement would be good uniforms.

I like these, but I see a couple of problems with some helmets:

1. With the French helmet, you inadvertantly made a Dutch flag going into the F.

2. What does the star have to do with Austria? It looks nice, but I don't think Austria uses a star in any of its symbols.

USA football has already set up a national team and it's not all amatuers. There are players from some indoor football teams as well as semi-pro teams. The national team that will compete in the 2007 IFAF World Championship of American Football will consist of college football players who played their senior season in 2006.

What other countries will be in that tournament?
