Okay, as I've stated on the Sports in General board, I'm not a big baseball fan. I watch the post-season and the SportsCenter highlights, but thats about it. I'm more of a football and basketball guy. I've always wondered though, Why Minnesota has a "C" in their logo. For the life of me, I can not figure out what it stands for. It looks very similar to the Red "C" but even so, I still don't get the meaning behind it. Any explanation or answers would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

You noticed the "C" and wondered what it stands for, but you didn't do the same and wonder what the "T" was doing there?

Well he probably reasonably assumed it was for "Twins".

I once heard that the team was going to be named "Twin Cities Twins," which is why the cap was the TC and the road uniforms said "Twins" instead of Minnesota.

The sticks-in-the mud running MLB at the time put the kibosh in such an untraditional name, but the team kept the cap logo anyway. I believe they were the first team to use the state name instead of the city, which was the compromise.

They may be the first major league team, but the first pro team at any level to do the state name thing was the Arkansas Travelers.

Calvin Griffith wanted the Twins to be the Twin Cities Twins, but the idea was nixed. Minnesota is better anyway.

As for the road uniform, I don't think so. Those were the days when it didn't matter if you put the team name or the city (in this case, state) name on the road uniforms.

In fact, it still shouldn't matter. I'd still rather see Twins on the road uniforms than Minnesota.

I always find it funny when people ask questions on messages boards that they could easily have found the answer to in about 5 seconds with a Google search. God, people are lazy these days. Even on the internet!

Yes, but even simple questions can kick off an interesting discussion. The pics of the "FC" cap, for example.

Bring back the Kenosha Twins. I went to one of their ballgames while visiting my aunt in Waukegan, Ill., back in the early '90s and just had a blast. Their cheeseburgers were so good you didn't need to put ketchup on them. Great game atmosphere. I even bought a KT cap.

What's the point?

Is your life that miserable that you have to get your kicks by saying rude stuff on a message board? Get a life.
