buckeyes Posted September 3, 2006 Posted September 3, 2006 After game one I am surprisingly happy with the new Ohio State uniforms. I couldnt really notice a difference in the sleeves from far but even up close they didnt look bad. What did you think? On another note I noticed a new visor for this year. Many of the buckeyes were wearing it. Its a nike visor with nike script on one label and the nike swish on the other label. I'll try to find more pictures. -The Few, The Proud, The Paint Users.-
sacker12 Posted September 3, 2006 Posted September 3, 2006 Why on earth is Teddy Ginn wearing a kicker's facemask?
Sport Posted September 3, 2006 Posted September 3, 2006 Why on earth is Teddy Ginn wearing a kicker's facemask? I like them on the pads alot better than when we first saw them in replica form, the only thing they need to fix now is the thickness of the black stripes on the pants. I can't wait to see the new roads next week at Texas.
IceCap Posted September 3, 2006 Posted September 3, 2006 These jerseys would be perfect for the Arizona Cardinals, should they ever decide to go with more traditional uniforms. Not for Ohio State though. The last jerseys they had were perfection. PotD 26/2/12 1/7/15 2020 BASS Spin the Wheel, Make the Deal Regular Season Champion 2021 BASS NFL Pick'em Regular Season Champion
speedo Posted September 3, 2006 Posted September 3, 2006 While I prefer the pervious set, my only knock against Ohio State's uniform is the bright silver for a school that's scarlet & grey. I'd prefer a few shades darker (not pewter or anything like that, but in bright sunshine, the pants look almost white). I also think grey numbers (with maybe slim white or black trim) would look awesome... "Old folks"
Chazberg Posted September 3, 2006 Posted September 3, 2006 Why on earth is Teddy Ginn wearing a kicker's facemask? I was wondering the exactl same thing. Personally I think the jerseys look decent, but compared to last year they're awful. The grey stripes beat the hell out of the new black/white ones, and I hate the way the sleeve numbers are so small and not quite on the shoulder but not quite on the arm. And how they're positioned forward instead of on the side; it just looks like the jersey is way too small and is being stretched too tight over the pads. charles-noerenberg.com

winghaz Posted September 3, 2006 Posted September 3, 2006 At least Ohio State didn't go Oregon on us.
Sport Posted September 3, 2006 Posted September 3, 2006 you know, I think it's time that football teams started to use fabric to make the sleeve stripes rather than screen printing them on. I mean most teams sew the numbers on, why can't they sew on stripes, I think it would look alot better.

But now, sleeves are little more than thick strips of elastic. What little room there is on a sleeve is stretched out over the pad. It's probably just easier to stretch the sleeve when it's elastic (with screened stripes) rather than multiple layers of fabric. In the past, sleeve stripes would wrap around one's bicep, at least when sleeves actually extended that far. Look at some quarterbacks who wear full sleeves...the stripes are bicep height. But since sleeves barely extend past the top of the shoulder, there's not much room to put them anywhere, and they end up almost looking like shoulder yokes, like UCLA. STL FANATIC Posted September 3, 2006 Posted September 3, 2006 If they added a thick (equal to that of the white) silver stripe on top of the upper black stripe, and one below the lower black stripe, that'd make these a lot better. Or if they filled in the red with silver and swapped the black and white stripes around, that'd look good too.Even with that though, they need to make the black stripes on the pants thinner, and make the pants silver and not grey. Or, if they're gonna do grey pants, they need to figure out how to make the helmets grey and not silver. JUSTIN STRIEBEL | PORTFOLIO | RESUME | CONTACT

But then they wouldn't match the helmet striping, which is what they were going for.

sacker12 Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 no comment on the new visors? Looks like Under Armour and Nike has decided to steal some of Oakley's thunder by getting visors with their logos on them. I wonder when Adidas will start doing the same.
HatManTC Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 authentics looks good with padsreplicas look like arseauthentics/replics of last years and before...the best. by RoscoeUA by gingerbreadman
sacker12 Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 I still miss the Northwestern stripes. I wish they did what the Browns when they went to using the tight cut unis and just make the stripes thinner.
Ben5 Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 no comment on the new visors? They suck. I've had to put them on helmets, and they are much harder to put on and take off than the Oakley visors.
