BBTV Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 I noticed that Donte Stallworth was sporting a jersey with a template I haven't seen before on Sunday. His jersey had two horizontal seams connecting the sleeve to the neck. It also appeared that his "eagles" wordmark was on a separate piece of "dazzle" material, like it was part of the shoulder that was extended to below the v-neck (I haven't found good pictures to back that up, though.) It also appeared that Westbrook was wearing the same jersey.I know some players on some teams have custom jerseys that are on different templates (Hugh Douglass wore raglan sleeved jerseys when he played on the Eagles, while the rest of the team wore the standard t-shirt template) but I've never seen this one before.Just thought I'd point it out. I get a little neurotic about this stuff sometimes. Geoff Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 Teams have been doing this for years. It tightens the material. I think there was a whole article a while back about the Bears doing it. Athletic Director: KTU Blue Grassers Football
BBTV Posted September 11, 2006 Author Posted September 11, 2006 I've seen those Bears linemen's jerseys that appear to have pinstripes in them, and I know the article you are refering to. You may be correct, but I thought this was different because it was only one extra seam, it was on two skill players, and the seam looked thicker than those Bears ones (like it was part of the production, not aftermarket tailoring.) 63Bulldogs63 Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 Take a look at Randle El's Jersey, it is similar to the type stallworth wore. It is a bit noticeable when he was shown awaiting the punt right before the half. he too has the lines atop the sleeve are.
