DEAD! Posted September 15, 2006 Posted September 15, 2006 Say don't these tigers look alike? The right is the NRL club, Wests Tigers. The left is a local Mississauga junior hockey organisation. I saw, I came, I left.
TNT44 Posted September 15, 2006 Posted September 15, 2006 Yes they do look similar. While there are a few differences, some random things like the wierd spikes coming out of the side of their faces are too similar.
Schilly Posted September 15, 2006 Posted September 15, 2006 Even the underscore under the "Tigers" is identical.
lilgump Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 I would say someone took one of them.. and pretty much used it as a base.. to almost exactly copy the style. There are some slight differences.. but It is really close, especially the total shape of the tigers. The World Basketball Championship, the Davis Cup, Ryder Cup, Iraq: Every day there's further proof that we, as a nation, are not very good at international competition.
Gazzzaf Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 I can tell you that the Wests Tigers adopted their logo for the commencement of the 2000 season.I'm pretty sure that Streetsville have copied Wests. I may have some bias but looking at both logos, Streetsville's is not as well drawn which indicates that someone has recoloured the logo using a raster program. It is also worth noting that the NRL is a nation-wide competition (I should say international, with a NZ team as well). I see minor league and local teams using logos of better known teams but have rarely, if ever, seen this go the other way.The Conneticut Wildcats have done the same thing in using Wests' logo but they have an official partnership with with them:
KCScout76 Posted September 17, 2006 Posted September 17, 2006 Damded theives!Friggin' put some money out and pay some of our grahic warriors here on this site and let them create them a fresh new logo - quit stealing (may they rot in h*ll) Kansas City Scouts (CHL) Orr Cup Champions 2010, 2019, 2021 St. Joseph Pony Express (ULL) 2023 Champions Kansas City Cattle (CL)
