Baseball changes in logos & unis

Those will be the only major changes for this year.  There are some other minor ones, like all green hats for Tampa Bay, a new red alternate hat for Minnesota, and the usual anniversary patches for a few teams.  SSUR has them all listed.  I too would like to see a change to the Cubs roads.  I liked the "Cuba" script ones from the mid-90's, maybe a version of those that looks more like "Cubs" than "Cuba."  Another I would like changed is Baltimore's roads.  Other than changing it to read "Baltimore," the orange on gray just doesn't work for me.  Black script would look better IMO.

I abosolutley agree as far "Baltimore" being on the road,in fact if it was up to me,i us the orange script on both the road and home jerseys, and i would use an orange alternate jersey like they did during their hay day in the 70's and early 80's

i'd also love to see the "baltimore" script return to their road jerseys. I don't mind the orange on the grey as long as the black outline is thick enough to pop them out. I think they should go back to orange scipt and numbers for their home unis - the current ones are looking bland and colorless.

SSUR is reporting "minor" changes in store for the O's home jerseys next season, in addition to the 50th Anniversary patch.

My O's sources are all contradicting each other as to what those "minor" changes might be.

I would love to see an orange alternate jersey. I would also like to see the white layer returned to the black alternates, and perhaps to the roads, along with restoration of the placket piping on those jerseys.

The strongest O's rumor is that the hat is going to change to some form of cartoon bird, but, as with all the other O's rumblings...NOTHING IS CONFIRMED!

:P

No, the caps are the same...the only real change is what you already said - the script on the home jerseys will go back to Orange, trimmed in Black.

The cartoon-bird is still on the sleeves though.

You know what's odd?  I wasn't sure what was meant by the Orioles' 50th Anniversary Patch, because it's not even on the 2004 Style Guide site...

I had to check my own site to see what the heck was going on...

(good gosh - I really need to update that thing this weekend...)

Hey guys:

Never, never, NEVER underestimate the Orioles' ability to wait until a couple minutes after the last minute to do ANYTHING!

Anyone remember the 1991 "Season to Remember" patch, or the 2000 black jersey change, both of which had to be yanked because they never got them approved?

I kind of agree, Chris. If they had spelled out Rangers, like there primary uni's, it wouldn't look so much like a college uniform. But, the fact that they are getting rid of the black and using blue belts and shoes, make me a little happier. The problem I have with the current primary's, is the fact that there is no piping. Being a local and a Ranger fan(I know, I know), the alts get a drooping thumbs up from me. BTW, sorry to get this topic going again. I noticed it was discussed in another string after I posted my initial message.

Is it just me, or do those Rangers duds scream ncaa?

Yeah, but then again, Texas has a good college baseball tradition so I'm not so sure that's such a bad thing so long as they don't use aluminum bats.  "TINGK!!!" is not a sound that should emit from any baseball diamond, regardless of level.

Further word from my O's sources indicates that front piping is coming off the home jerseys, to make them consistent with the road and alternates, and that the script will reverse to orange on black.
