Eye Posted September 22, 2006 Posted September 22, 2006 I haven't posted a concept in a while so here we go. With this concept I tried to give it more of that "desert" or southwestern feel that were seen with the Coyotes' previous jerseys and logos. I tried to incorporate the sand color that the 'Yotes use, as seen in the striping, socks, and shoulders, which are somewhat similar to that of the Tampa Bay Lightning. You know, how the Lightning's jerseys are black, and the shoulders are white. Well, here I felt that the sand was unique on the home jerseys, because most teams would put white there (on the shoulders) for a greater contrast. I thought of doing that, but the sand that the Coyotes use is cooler looking and gives almost the same contrast from the brick red to the sand. On to the shoulder patches. The PHX patch stays the same, on the left shoulder. The other shoulder was vacant looking, so I put the moon logo on it. I don't know why the 'Yotes don't use the moon on their current jerseys, but I used it here because when you think of a Coyote you think of what. Howling at the moon. Also if anyone has a glove template, could they please PM it to me. I would like to finish this concept fully, and the gloves are a necessity. C & C for this concept always.Brian Raps...
Nick 1733 Posted September 22, 2006 Posted September 22, 2006 Funny enough, the striping gives it that desert feel because when you look at it, it's like looking into the distance in the desert heat and seing the heat rise up off the gound and make things look distorted & blurry, which is the effect you get while looking at the striping here. Nice job, don't know if that was intentional or not, but I would guess it wasn't. MLB, NBA, NFL & NHL Font Packs
Shumway Posted September 22, 2006 Posted September 22, 2006 I see what you're getting at, but in motion, those stripes might seem to be a bit too 'jittery' for the lack of a better term. A few changes I'd make:- Lose the black collars...it really takes away from the rest of the set- Maroon helmet for the home jersey- I'd go with maroon pants on both too- Switch the socks...ted goes with red, white goes with white.

Exactly my thoughts. If you do this you have yourself a pretty solid concept.
Eye Posted September 22, 2006 Author Posted September 22, 2006 Yeah, I got a lil' mixed up on the socks there and did it backwards. I just realized that. I'll fix that some time when I get a chance. I forgot to do the helmet for the home jersey also, but that can easily be fixed. I was originally going to go with brick red for the collars, but wanted to try black. I guess brick would probably work better because I used black sparingly (to separate the stripes.) So I'll revamp that too.
steiny_ramone Posted September 22, 2006 Posted September 22, 2006 What they said, and make the logo and sleeve numbers smaller. Maybe add a sand outline around the numbers. facespace?http://www.myspace.com/seancalcottmusic http://www.myspace.com/forgottentoys
The_Admiral Posted September 22, 2006 Posted September 22, 2006 Hey, I really like it. Good job. ♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫
I Am A Flaming Douche Bag Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 23, 2006 there alright except for the zig zag stripes....the rest is great
Eye Posted September 23, 2006 Author Posted September 23, 2006 UPDATE: I moved the shoulder patches down, further away from the neck and more on the shoulders. I changed the black pants to maroon. The home helmet is maroon and the away helmet stays white. I put the correct socks with the home and away this time, with the same striping that is on the jersey for the zigzags. The collar was changed from black on both jerseys to maroon on the home and sand on the road to give some contrast between the collar and the shoulders. The sleeve numbers are smaller too. C & C as always.
uniguy22 Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 23, 2006 Very nicely done. You gave it a desert feel witout making it outaragous like their old set. Good job.
Shumway Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 Much, much better. I'm still not feeling the striping pattern, but it's basically the main part of your concept.
winghaz Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 I really like the zig-zag idea, but I'll bet it would look better if there weren't as many zig-zags. The way it is now almost hurts one's eyes. Try going with about one-quarter less zig-zags or even one-third less, and I'll bet you'll still have the great desert effect without going overboard.
BrianVlietDesign Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 To be honest, I think the wave stripes take away from the uniform too much. NYCFC - MLS CUP CHAMPIONS - 2021
Drew22 Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 You should try a sand alt. It would look cool. Eagles/Heels/Dawgs/Falcons/Hawks
Squeaks4 Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 You should try a sand alt. It would look cool. threadjack/Like this?/threadjackI dont mean this to be a thread jack in all honesty. Just I would share something I did (along with a complete set of 3 other Yote's uni's) with ya.
Eye Posted September 25, 2006 Author Posted September 25, 2006 Ya know, I actually did think about trying a sand alt, but I think it would have been to close to white. Kind of like how they wouldn't let the Tampa Bay Buccaneers wear a pewter alt if you know what I mean.
steiny_ramone Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 A sand alt might work if it had Red Wings-esque, and I guess now Sabres-esque contrasting sleeves. That way there'd be enough of a dark colour to balance it out. Of course they probably couldn't wear it against, say, the Wings. facespace?http://www.myspace.com/seancalcottmusic http://www.myspace.com/forgottentoys
