Amazin1
Just wondering if anyone knows where I can find the College Football Bowl Logos for this year's upcoming Bowl Games, and any of the old logos as well (like the 2000 Sugar Bowl Logo with the 'National Championship' banner on it). Thanks in advance!

CZzyzx41
Can someone explain to me how the heck the New Orleans Superdome got TWO BOWL GAMES??? There are over 150 college football teams and you couldn't find another site that would host a large crowd? What about Columbus, OH??? That should be a sign to SOMEONE that there are too many bowl games (not to mention 6-6 teams like UCLA got bids when No. Illinois didn't) -DanielCheck Out My Podcast! umlegend
The San Fran Bowl has a different logo on the site than the one posted. I would guess the posted one was last year before they found the sponsor, although it is a million times better.Ok, here's my gripe with the bowl names/ logos. My biggest problem is when a bowl drops the bowl name totally (or never has one to begin with) in favor of the sponsor's title. For instance, there's the GMAC Bowl, the Continental Tire Bowl (more on this one in a minute), the Outback Bowl and the Capitol One Bowl. This is getting ridiculous. The Cap 1 Bowl used to be the Florida citrus Bowl, then it became the Capitol One Florida Citrus Bowl and now for the past few years it is just the Capitol One Bowl. The stadium is actually the Florida citrus Bowl. So, the Cap1 Bowl is played at the Citrus Bowl. That is stupid. Second, is when they keep their name but the sponsor becomes the most important part of the name. The Rose and Alamo have it right. The Rose Bowl is presented by Citi, it isn't the Citi Rose Bowl. The Alamo is presented by Mastercard (at least that's what the logo shows) and the Motor City Bowl, hooray DTown is presented by the Big 3 auto manufacturers.Third is the same thing only regarding logos. The first Bowl I noticed that had this problem was the Fiesta when they got Tostitos as sponsor (there may have been others at the time, but this was the first I noticed). Look at their logo. Tostitos is 80% of the logo and the bowl name and info is the other 20%. I hate this. A lot of bowls have this right, like the Alamo, Fort Worth, Hawaii etc.On a side note, in reference to the Continental Tire Bowl, I think that in spite of their name being the bowl name, what they are trying is pretty cool. Check out their logo. Continental is huge while Tire is in the same font as and next to the word Bowl. It's as if this is the Tire Bowl and Continental is the sponsor. That's pretty creative. I always thought that Nike should start the Air Bowl (probably in Dallas with the hole in the roof) and it would be the Nike Air Bowl similar to what Continental is trying to do. That's pretty slick.as for the top 5 logos, here's my list1) Rose Bowl2) Music City Bowl3) Alamo Bowl4) Sun Bowl5) Fort Worth BowlAnother side note: I am kinda getting sick of the bowls being named after their cities. Mostly this has happened recently, except for the LV Bowl. The New Orleans Bowl should be the Cajun Bowl, the San Fran Bowl should be the Golden Gate Bowl, the Houston bowl should be the Outerspace Bowl presented by NASA of course and so on. Cities with nicknames like the Music or Motor City work but just Nashville or Detroit would not. This gives me an idea for a contest. I will post it soon. random
thats pretty funny that the citrus bowl stadium hosts two bowl games neither of which are called the "citrus bowl" Â i refuse to use the new name. the "Cap one" bowl will always be the Citrus Bowl to me. yh
thats pretty funny that the citrus bowl stadium hosts two bowl games neither of which are called the "citrus bowl" i refuse to use the new name. the "Cap one" bowl will always be the Citrus Bowl to me.What's really odd about the whole Orlando situation is that the Cap One Bowl was the Florida Citrus Bowl, however Florida Citrus is actually a commercial name for the alliance of citrus fruit growers in Florida, so it just went from one commercial name to another, but the real irony here is that the Florida Citrus Bowl was originally the TANGERINE BOWL as was the name of the stadium. Â Now, Orlando gets a second bowl game and they bring back the original name of their "primary" game. Â Wonder how long it will take for that one to get renamed --- again. pagan696
"tire bowl" has a nice synergy to it... with a better image you can see the tire tread in the logo. they market the events well here in Charlotte, for a new bowl game and all. ask me, there are way too many bowl games. JBPerry
Ok, here's my gripe with the bowl names/ logos. Although it is called the Fort Worth Bowl, Dallas has 2 bowl games. The Cotton Bowl and the Fort Worth Bowl. Also, SBC is the main sponsor for all events pertaining to the Cotton Bowl. Whenever texas plays the SOONERS (OU!), the game is called the SBC Red River Shootout. The good part about this, though is that the bowls don't fight saying one shouldn't be here and so on and so forth. <embed src="http://www.clocklink.com/clocks/5005-Blue.swf?TimeZone=CST&TimeFormat=hhmmssTT" width="180" height="60" wmode="transparent" type="application/x-shockwave-flash">joshuabperry@sbcglobal.netMy Webpage
