Shroinke
If anyone can get a screen shot, you'll see what I'm talking about. On NBC's scoreboard for the Steelers-Chargers game, the logo next to the Chargers is the retro light blue background with yellow bolt, rather than the navy background and white bolt. Same for the "we're cutting to commercial" scoreboard. Is this just for tonights game to go along with the Charger's uniforms? If so, I'm impressed with the level of detail NBC would commit to a specific game. darkshadow1031
NBC is sure on the ball!If only they could have gotten the stadium walls to match the field and the jerseys too. 2002-2006 ALUMNI 2007-2009
Fred T. Jane
If so, I'm impressed with the level of detail NBC would commit to a specific game.Yet they still get the Bengals' logo wrong every week... [Croatia National Team Manager Slavan] Bilic then went on to explain how Croatia's success can partially be put down to his progressive man-management techniques. "Sometimes I lie in the bed with my players. I go to the room of Vedran Corluka and Luka Modric when I see they have a problem and I lie in bed with them and we talk for 10 minutes." Maybe Capello could try getting through to his players this way too? Although how far he'd get with Joe Cole jumping up and down on the mattress and Rooney demanding to be read his favourite page from The Very Hungry Caterpillar is open to question. --The Guardian's Fiver, 08 September 2008 Attention: In order to obtain maximum enjoyment from your stay at the CCSLC, the reader is advised that the above post may contain large amounts of sarcasm, dry humour, or statements which should not be taken in any true sort of seriousness. OB33
Let's not forget the fact that NBC only has to cover one game a week.Potentially, they may not have to use the Chargers current logo set for a game all year. #CHOMPCHOMPCHOMP
DGivens87
Anyone notice that some of the Chargers throwbacks have the "NFL Equipment" patch, and some don't? Sounds like our ol' friend consistency went to bed early for this game! A large cheese pizza, just for me.New England's source for soccer newsAnd hey, I made it to ESPN! FSN North would use the ball-in-glove logo on its Sunday home Brewers telecasts. The big reason the scoreboard is there is so one can readily identify who is playing even if they've never watched a football game in their lives, even moreso on Sunday night, when your audience may consist of even more casual viewers. Wouldn't it just confuse people if San Diego was identified on NBC with a navy blue scheme, when they took the field in the collegiate blue? jtthasportfreak
I attended the Chargers\Raiders game at the Murph in 2000 (and survived) where the Bolts sported the powder blues. I recorded ESPN's Sunday Night Football and they also did powder blue graphics to identify the Chargers so last night wasn't a first. thanks Chris for whoring my Forum logo to your site... blame canada ! Krona
I've nocticed something like this on ESPN lately thats pretty cool. when referring to a record, player or team from another era, they use the logo from that time.

TFoA
I was suprised myself when NBC went to that much detail. Normally you see companies still using outdated logos *coughfoxcough*, but not NBC. They were on the ball. And then the Chargers won wearing those sick-ass unis, so it was smiles for everyone.
