fiasco!
Huston Street is more reliable closer then Todd Jones, and in the postseason the closer could make the difference.may i analyze this one? yes? thanks. Huston Street and Todd Jones both had 37 saves, both gave up 4 homers, both had a similar ERA (Street's 3.31 to Jones' 3.94), but i think the telling stat that discredits your "reliability" statement is this: Huston Street had 11 blown saves to Jones' 6. Reliability goes to the Rollercoaster in this one, my friend.Look for home field to play a big role in this series as the A's will have trouble winning in Detroit, while the Tigers struggle by the bay. hmmm....Didn't the Tigers have the best road record in the bigs this year? yes? good, i thought so. kinda blows the home field theory out of the water too.but that's fine, tank, keep picking against the tigers....just be sure to put your kiss of death on the mets in the world series, that way you can be wrong through all three rounds of the playoffs. thanks. NJTank
Honestly I think Street is better then Jones and Game 7 will be in Oakland, if Game 7 was in Detroit I may have picked the Tigers. As for Wallpaer I likely wont be updating it I just wated something for a BG for my Previews. www.sportsecyclopedia.com For the best in sports history go to the Sports E-Cyclopedia at http://www.sportsecyclopedia.com
Cyclopsis Joe
Man, Tank:Tigers is directly proportional to Tank:Falcons. The more he picks them to lose, the more they win (hopefully). I don't speak for democrats, democrats don't speak for me.

Either way, its gonna be an incredible series, and hey Joel, dont take it so hard that someone picked against the Tigers. It happens. Just enjoy that your team has, at minimum, 4 more games left to play. Thats the way you gotta look at it this late. fiasco!
i'm not upset at people picking against the tigers. i just wish they got the credit they deserve. people act as if the yankees lost the series, rather than the tigers winning it with stellar pitching. win or lose from this point forward, i'm happy with their showing this season.that isn't to say that i don't think they are gonna win it all, because they are. Man I cant wait till that series starts. IMO nothing in this world beats being excited about your teams chances in mid October. CZzyzx41
I'm going out and rooting for a Cardinals vs Tigers World Series. Sure I really believe it'll be Mets v Tigers but I'm hoping Belliard can punish the Mets like he punished the Padres and I'm hoping the Cardinals offense comes alive at the right time. I like Cardinals fans and I also don't want to see a bay area or New York team in the World Series. Bring on Gehringer, Frisch, Cochrane, the Gashouse Gang, and Schoolboy. It's time to get serious. -DanielCheck Out My Podcast! Latest Episode 273: The Color BlinkyLatest Photo Upload: January 7, 2012

NJTank
Wel I think this time its because of the lackluster effort the Yankees gave in Detroit, the lack of emotion the lack of everything, starting Jaret Wright and the continued failure of A-Rod, whom btw I think is offical the worst postseason performer in sports history. www.sportsecyclopedia.com For the best in sports history go to the Sports E-Cyclopedia at http://www.sportsecyclopedia.com
HedleyLamarr
Win a team closes out a series by winning games 6-0 and 8-3, the credit should go to what the winning team did, and not what the losing team didn't do.

ROCHitman
I don't agree with Tanks picks for teams making the WS, but I think he's got the number of games right in each series. As for Jones as the closer, I really hope Leyland moves him to setup and slides Zumaya in as closer.I don't recall a manager doing this right in the mddle of the postseason, but I think it'sbest for the Tigers to make that move early in the series. The Rollercoaster has handled the pressure pretty well since his hiccup after coming off the DL earlier in the season. Zoomie is the perfect setup option, because he can give you 2 innings with no problems. Plus, Jonesy is a perfect option after Zumaya to totally flabbergast an offense after they are accustomed to seeing 100+ mph heat for two innings, then getting Jones in the ninth to throw a variety of curves and changeups, mixed in with his (not so fast) heater. In a series like this where you only need 6 from your starters before you hand it to the 'pen, i'm excited about our chances. LinkedIn

Shumway
I've gotta respectfully disagree Tank. I'm going Cards/Tigers in the series. As much as I'd love to see the Jimmer(Edmonds) get a ring, I can't help but root for the Tigers. Hopefully this doesn't turn out like my possible Angels/Cards World Series last year .That Eckstein/Spezio combo in StL reminds me of a certain World Champion team from a few years ago...in fact a poster of them hangs on my wall as I type this. TFoA
What a surprise! Tank picks New York! lol, all accused homerism-aside, I agree with him. Right now the Mets are the favorite to win it all, AL-Dominance be damned.
