I picked that out today to. You cant get the bill of a 5950 to curve like that. I wonder if hes breakin any kind of rules. Also Marco Scutaro wore a beanie over his real cap.

Eric Gagne also wore the 3930 all throughout the NLDS against the Mets. I'm aware that he's injured so it didn't really matter but it was very noticeable because the LA is blue instead of white.

Speaking of the Dodgers, when was the last time they wore their silver-brimmed alt hat? It's on a New Era poster I have of all the MLB hats for 2006, but so is the black A's hat which hasn't been worn for a couple of years now either.

did you happen to see the Rockies' purple hat on that poster as well? cus irony of ironies, I was in Finish Line one day and happened to look up to see one :D

heh, though, I know the A's only wore the black hat/jersey combo in 2000. the Dodgers, I only recall em wearing the silver-billed caps the year they unveiled em (I forget when), but apparently they still sell said hat and the blue jersey that came with it.

I KNEW something seemed weird about that hat, but it was only around the 6th inning that I thought of the BP hat.

Yep, three hats, only one of which looks familar. The all-black, a purple brim, and the all-purple.

The silver brimmed cap was worn in 1999. I just bought one last May from Minor League Major Dreams. A great place with good prices for caps if anyone is interested it's www.minorleagues.com.

The Dodgers last and only wore the silver bill hats in 1999 and the Black A's in 2000. In both cases the players and fans were so disgusted with the Alternate look that they were quickly dropped.

The all purple Rockies hats was worn twice in 2004 and 2005. Both times it was for Opening Day and the first series played and not worn again through the year. They did not continue the "tradition" in 2006.

We still sell that hat at my Lids store. Well, we dont accually sell any, they just kinda sit there. Both that hat and the A's black we both sell, but the A's hat still sells like madd. Im working on completing my authentics collection and when I had to suck it up and buy a Dodgers hat I bought the silver brimmed hat because of the rediculousness of it.

when he was with the Giants, Shawn Estes used to wear his BP hat with the script G on it during games he didnt start. This was before the stretch fit 3930 models were introduced however.

Reminds me of Jose Theodore in the Heritage Classic.

Does anyone know where I could find the MLB policy on uniforms? I've noticed that the MLB seems to be the most liberal of the big 4 league on what the players can do with their uniform.

Why wouldn't MLB allow it?

Players are wearing headbands and do rags under their hats. Ronnie Belliard is probably doing it as we speak.
