FiddySicks
yes. the hat is ugly.the generalities you people are displaying about who would buy this hat are rather sickening, though.Does it make it any less sickening that those kinda people are seriously the only ones who do buy them? Ive sold a few hundred of these since theyve come out, and I can assure you, not a one has been sold to mid 40s businessmen in lacoste polo shirts and khaki shorts. fiasco!
no, it doesn't make it any less sickening."those kinda people" are the ones that are buying the hat in your market. it's obvious who the hat is marketed toward. does there need to be an entire thread voicing the disgust for the type of people this hat is marketed toward? i really don't think so. it very well could have ended with "that's an ugly hat". i'm sure there are some people here that actually like the style. i'm sure that among the thousands of members here, there are people that fit the description of what has been decried in this thread. Ill just leave it at this then. The hat is F'ing ugly, and the majority that ive seen purchased, ahve been purchased by total idiots or their senseless girlfriends. Now thats not to say a rocket scientist or a biomolecular physicist or two wont purchase the hat. Im just giving you what ive seen. BallWonk
Well, if you're going to pour a bottle of Cristal over your head, this is definitely the cap to be wearing. Actually, this version:Is perfect for the Yankees and their whole "If we can afford to spend $100 million a year just to compensate for the $40 million we wasted in bad contracts on top of a $60 million payroll, then by God we deserve to be awarded the World Series trophy on October 2" attitude. I could see the small minority of Steinbrenner-worshippers among the Yankees fan base loving this cap. The gold stitching, the bright white twill, the embroidered C-notes, it's just so ... Yankees. I have a former boss who would probably love this. (And, just to counter the tone of this thread so far, the guy I'm thinking of is white. Very white. A wealthy forty-something Yankees-fan suburban dad who mostly listens to REM and Paul Simon and goes to Jimmy Buffett concerts. And I seriously think he would buy this cap and wear it to US Cellular when the Yankees come to town if he knew about it.)Alternately, when Congressmen and Senators come home from Washington at election time to brag about all the tax money they've wasted on porkbarrel projects in their districts -- $315 million for a bridge to nowhere, say -- they ought to have to wear a version of this cap with the Capitol dome on the front. Or maybe the size of the federal debt, in trillions. I say this with members of both parties in mind.
Titanium Eagle
joel_fiasco, thank you.I mentioned that in another topic (http://boards.sportslogos.net/index.php?showtopic=42145&hl=) and everyone acted like they had no clue what I was talking about.I have no clue why no one is doing anything about the growing trend of racially stereotyping around here. It's :censored:ing crazy.I dress like what people here are stereotyping, and it's offensive as hell. Just because some people (like me) dress like that doesn't mean they steal, sag their pants, buy anything with gold/silver/platinum, buy ugly, gaudy hats, etc.

Telemundo219
You know I think the post was started about the hat design, not about the people who wear them or their lifestyle. It's unacceptable when people become victims of stereotyping and make comments they shouldn't be making on a PUBLIC board. College sports as we know them are just about dead. The lid is off on all the corruption that taints just about every major program and every decision that the schools or the NCAA make is only about money, money, and more money. We'll have three 16+ team super-conferences sooner rather than later, killing much of the regional flair and traditional rivalries that make college sports unique and showing the door to any school that doesn't bring money to the table in the process. Pretty soon the smaller schools are going to have to consider forming their own sanctioning body to keep the true spirit of college sports alive because the NCAA will only get worse in it's excess from here
leedsunited
The only stereotyping i'll make is that anyone who would wear that travesty on their head is either blind, stupid, or joking around for Halloween.Nuff said. Make your choice.

BB61
I wouldn't pin this type to a racial group, but rather, to an age demographic and a lifestyle. The lifestyle may have been originated by a certain group of people tied to that racial group, but I live in a racially mixed city, and the only connection that I can see in the wearers of these types of caps is not race, but age. This design is aimed at young people who are interested in the same style as the other caps in this line, the kind you see at Lids all the time. Accually, the majority of them are, dare I say, white. I dunno about others, but I never made this one a race issue. Fred T. Jane
And for the Toronto Blue Jays, yeah, they should be using Canadian money. They tried to make the side panels look like authentic beaver pelts, but I guess it just wasn't feasible. [Croatia National Team Manager Slavan] Bilic then went on to explain how Croatia's success can partially be put down to his progressive man-management techniques. "Sometimes I lie in the bed with my players. I go to the room of Vedran Corluka and Luka Modric when I see they have a problem and I lie in bed with them and we talk for 10 minutes." Maybe Capello could try getting through to his players this way too? Although how far he'd get with Joe Cole jumping up and down on the mattress and Rooney demanding to be read his favourite page from The Very Hungry Caterpillar is open to question. --The Guardian's Fiver, 08 September 2008 Attention: In order to obtain maximum enjoyment from your stay at the CCSLC, the reader is advised that the above post may contain large amounts of sarcasm, dry humour, or statements which should not be taken in any true sort of seriousness.
