2007 NHL All-Star jerseys...

Parting thought: I don't see Dallas adopting this template(although they've cribbed the All-Star Jersey before) Their current look will translate to this template without much modification.

If I'm not mistaken, the Stars head office has actually said that they are going completely different in 2007, regardless of whether or not their current uniform would work with this template. And seeing as how these jerseys have Stars on them AND are being used IN Dallas, I wouldn't be surprised if this is what Dallas will be wearing next year.

Accually, I dont think it looks bad. It looks like this transition will be more like the NFL's transition into the tighter jerseys. While some hate it, others dont mind it, or notice it. I think overall its not gonna be that much different than it is now, just a bit more sleak.

you forget all the teams are getting newly designed uniforms... it's not just a fabric change

Yeah thats true, but you could argue that the same happened in the NFL when RBK won the bid on the jerseys. The material was tighter, wicked sweat better, was more durable than the old stuff ect ect. I dunno though, I havent seen the new jerseys so maybe the design will be completely different on all the teams. I just have a feeling after seeing the template for the new jerseys that the look of the new stuff wont be too much of a drastic change from what we see now. Im sure certain things will be different but im guessing that basic designs like the Canadiens and Rangers should translate pretty easily. And the whole thing about not being able to incorperate the old designs sounds like BS to me. It cant be that hard.

The Iowa kit will certainly not work with this template. But with the three stars along the sides, hopefully they will return to the 3 star breezers, too. However, Dallas' star shapes(even on their banners) are always the traditional slanted star. This template has symetrical stars.

For those worry about the mesh on the back, it's not that bad. All Sabres replica jerseys have it. It's a thinner material, and although the holes are bigger, it's done in a way that it doesn't look too much different from the regular mesh.

Just keep in mind that the Sabres jerseys aren't the same exact cut. They have many similiar features, but it's not gonna be "template mania". The top of the sleeve (navy part) on the Sabres jerseys do not have any cut outs, it's all one piece. Horizontal striping is possible, but odds are, it'll be NFL-style, where it doesn't go all the way around.

I'll reserve judgement until they are all changed. For now, the Sabres jerseys and All-Star jerseys are winners in my book.

I can already kind of picture how the flyers colors are going to be worked in (on the white jerseys, the top part will be orange, with the black in that little section underneath). The shoulders kind of remind me of the CFL template a little. I can also see how this is going to be form fitting, as the overall shape of the jersey reminds me alot more of the Nike Swift, rather than a traditional hockey jersey. Im interested to see how these all look on the ice, with socks and if theyre tucked into the pants (which they probably will be based on the tag on the botom front)

All of a sudden, that's made the template look a little more hopeful. Nice concept speedy, but wouldn't the Stars have their primary logo as the crest?

yes but i felt the demented map of texas flowed better with this current template, and im currently working on a Red Wings and Flyers concept as we speak

just throwing this out there....

stars-1.png

swap the green and black.. i heard that we're going back to black as the primary color, with green and gold accents, like from the 90's.

also, lose the number on the front (or at least make it in a traditional stars block number), and go with the full primary logo.

and these might not be terrible. i'd buy it.

-edit-

actually, i'm going to mess with it, if you don't mind... i just got some ideas that don't seem horrible, using that exact template. i'll see what i can come up with :)
