FiddySicks
So i just recieved both of the new Diamondbacks caps in the mail today (apparently DHL dilivers not only on Saturdays, but also on holidays. They mustve been there all day long. THankfully nobody swiped them) and both hats are the new 2007 hats. 100% Polyester, black underbill, raised MLB logo on the back. Both fit me like a frickin glove. First time ive ever ordered multiple caps from MLB.com where both fit me perfectly. Ill post pics in a bit.why didnt you just wait and get them at the 40% off, we get?Im only allowed a certain amount per month (I think its like $100 a month for third keys) and im already at my November limit. Plus I had no idea on when we were going to accually be allowed to stock them, so I said forget it, ill just order from MLB.com. I tend to be pretty impatient sometimes. Discrim
I tried on one of the new 5950's at the hatclub here in Arizona. Man do these hats suck. Not only do they not fit like the wool one's. The sizing is screwy. I wear a 7 1/4. That size was too big. I tried on the next size down. It was too small. I do believe that NewEra is going to burn itself with this crap. I will never buy a NewEra hat as long as it is made with the new material. What brand will you buy then? New ERA hAS a lock on the market it seems and everyone else prices are crazy( NEW ERA are high as is) now I just make my own caps.heh, another DIY guy, eh? cool, how have your hats held up? What material do you use? what do you use for the bill? heh, the jersey maker inside me wants to know, as I've thought about making a hat A strong mind gets high off success, a weak mind gets high off bull

ZoDogg34
The new Diamondbacks caps aren't available in the Phoenix area except at the Diamondbacks team shop. They have an exclusive license for a couple of weeks.I think the'll be at the Hat Club next week.
sacker12
Question: Do these new 59FIFTYs impact Minor League caps? In fact, do they impact any New Era cap other than MLB?I think that they do affect Minor League caps. What I am guessing that New Era is going to do is that teams are going to have the option of using the wool cap or the polyester cap. I would guess they will try trying to get teams that are in the warmer climates (i.e. Atlanta, Florida, Arizona, Houston, etc.) to wear the polyester hat. I would guess that teams that play in a cooler climate would get to keep the wool cap.Actually, I do hope they affect Minor League caps. I've been looking at getting a Lake Elsinore Storm 5950 for a while. Also, I need a new Biscuits hat. I'm hoping that these team will be switching to the poly hats, hopefully causing MinorLeagues.com or someone to have a clearance sale on the wool 5950's. reedpm
In terms of the Minor League caps, I think the new style will carry over. For example, as far as I know, the team I follow (Salem Avalanche) has been selling their wool 5950s at close-out prices, As far as I know, they aren't going through an identity or logo change next year. The close-out prices started in the final month of the season. Based on that info, I would assume MiLB teams are getting the same makeover. huggermugger
I was in lids today to check out the new 5950's. I ahve like 250 New Era caps and I was concerned that I wouldn't like the new material Here are my observations.- The store clerks didn't realize the 5950 was changed.- They only had like two teams the tigers and angels in the new models and they were mixed in with old models.- The material, while not labeled wool, sure felt like wool. - It was,'t low profile.Don't expect a sale on new era caps anytime soon. They won't get rid of all that old inventory when the changes are so minor. Most casual buyers won't tell the difference.

Most casual buyers won't tell the difference.I had a similar experience at the Hat Club in Phoenix. The guy in the store had no clue that they were changed to polyester.I showed him the label and he was shocked. The only ones they had were Tigers. The rest were wool, except the new Diamondbacks home caps (the brick red ones) which were acrylic / wool blend for some reason. The Diamondbacks road caps, however, were 100% wool.

Gothamite
The Yankees store on 42nd Street only has the old caps. They don't know when the next shipment will come in, but expect it before Christmas. The Green Bay Packers Uniform Database! Now in a handy blog. mr71
I got the new DBacks caps. The black one was still made of 100 % wool but the brick one was a 70%Acrylic 30%Wool blend. The weird part was instead of saying MLB authentic on the inside, it had General Merchandise like what they use for fashion caps
