Korkie
Pujols got robbed on the Silver Slugger. The guy's top 3 in the NL in all three Triple Crown categories and still doesn't get it?Should Howard get the MVP, then Pujols gets robbed. I won't be pissed if Howard gets it, but I'll feel like it went to the wrong guy.For the Silver Slugger though, the right choice was made. First in HR and RBI by 9 and 12, and eighth with a solid .313 average. That should be and is Howard's award. This is so tough. For me its a toss up. The Phillies had a better record than the Cardinals, Howard had better numbers, did not miss a chunk of time due to injury, carried a team who was under .500 and conducting a full out fire sale back to within games of the wild card. Pujols brought a team killed by injuries back from the dead on his back to get them into the playoffs (albeit with 2 less wins than the Phillies). The stats are so close and their impact on their teams is also very comperable. I'd say Howard gets the slight edge, but only by a nose. Shumway
No Link yet, but Brandon Webb of the Arizona Diamondbacks has been named Cy Young Award Winner for the National LeagueI actually saw a Cy Young pitcher for the first time in my life then. He was great in the game I saw, although the Phillies ended up winning(Webb pitched a no decision..they were up when he left the game)I'm really curious if Jered Weaver would've gotten the ROY if he had played the full season. He definitely would have been in the top 3.

It knows it must run faster than the fastest lion or it will be eaten. Every morning in Africa, a lion wakes up. It knows it must outrun the slowest gazelle or it will starve. It doesn't matter whether you're a lion or a gazelle. When the sun comes up, you'd better be running." - Unknown | Check out my articles on jerseys at Bacon Sports
