Sox: the white kind, for you coastlovers. anyways, the only change I can recall happening to the black jerseys was the addition of player names around 94 or 95.

The black jerseys have always had names since their introduction at the end of the 1990 season. The only change I could think of (and I could be wrong) was that for the first year, the black jerseys had no sleeve striping.

Cubs: alt blues first appeared in 97, but weren't used all that much until the next season. the Cubs began wearing two versions depending on location: homes had only a number on back, roads had names over the numbers

This, of course, only held true for the 2005 and 2006 seasons, when the Cubs removed names from their home jerseys. The names will return in 2007.
