NEW YORK, December 2, 2006 ? The NBA Development League (D-League) has awarded an expansion team to Orem, Utah, for the 2007-08 season, NBA Commissioner David Stern announced today. The team will play at the McKay Event Center.

They're holding a "name the team" contest, though whether or not this will actually impact their naming is yet to be seen.

The four proposed names are:

1) Dash

2) Flash

3) Dynos

4) Heros

IMO, #3 is lame (I'm looking at you NBA Toronto), and #1, 2 and 4 have nothing to do with the location.

They could at least spells Heroes right if they are going to use it.

Would that be a permanent nickname, or would they be Heroes just for one day?

The Orem Osmonds? Sorry, I couldn't resist.

Or the Orem Waltz? (To match the stupid "Z" craze and go along with the Utah Jazz.)

If it doesn't have two Z's, it's crap.

Stick it to the WNBA and call them the Utah Future Starzz.

Save the slugalo.
