FiddySicks
Just brought back his second return for a TD, setting the new NFL record for returns for a TD in a season with 6. So, who thinks a returner deserves ROY honors? And to think, fans were pretty upset with this pick

So, who thinks a returner deserves ROY honors? And to think, fans were pretty upset with this pick Actually, quite a few chicago fans thought he was the ONLY pick that was a good one. I know that was the only pick I liked this year....but then Daniel Manning and Mark Anderson have gotten quite a bit of playing time on defense (Manning started from day 1)I've liked Hester from day 1. I hope they can figure out a way to get his hands on the ball on offense. Perhaps some kind of slot reciever. He was plaing corner a bit tonight. Teams are not going to punt to him anymore and I don't know what teams can do on kickoffs short of kicking it out of bounds or onside kicking everytime. He's a really special player.I don't think he's had more of an impact as Vince Young however. Vince Young is THE MAN in Tennessee. Devin Hester is a very important part, but the main element. But still, Hester has to be at least considered,a nd should at least make the Pro Bowl as a returner.

STL FANATIC
Just brought back his second return for a TD, setting the new NFL record for returns for a TD in a season with 6. So, who thinks a returner deserves ROY honors? And to think, fans were pretty upset with this pick Well, he passed Tom Brady on "the list of players I want to shoot" tonight. No kidding. As bad as the Rams were on a couple of offensive and defensive drives and even with some rough officiating, to think it all came down to Special Teams. It's getting old fast. Not to take anything away from Hester because he still fills an important role here. But it's like a gurantee that if the Rams face a good returner, at least one and probably two kickoff/punt returns will come WAY back. And add the botched extra point for the 15th point.I'm bummed and surrounded by Bears fans. Gross.Oh well. The bitter side in me says that the Bears will get beat up in the playoffs. Their only major success came with runs (with a couple scattered passes) against one of the worst run defenses this league has ever seen and with returns by a great returner vs a pitiful special teams. The Rams didn't have that much trouble agains their great defense. Blah. Just bummed. Bears are good and I hate it.

hormone
He's a flippin' beast. He's got more returns than TB will ever have. If I could play fantasy GM, I woulda drafted Stephen Jackson over Michael Clayton and got Hester instead of Caddy...oh what if Big ups for the "U"
whitedawg22
Not to take anything away from Hester, because he has looked pretty incredible, but how much responsibility for successful returns goes to the returner, and how much goes to the special teams unit for their blocking? He was basically untouched on the second one.

FiddySicks
Remember Dante Hall?Exactly.Exactly what? He had a year or so where he returned a ton of kicks back, helped his team make the playoffs (i think), made the Pro Bowl, showed he was the human joystick (that one still sounds so wrong to me ), and straight up kicked ass. Didnt do much else, but he didnt really have to. Whats your point?

Whats your point?i think its more of a "where is he gonna be in a year or so" comment and i agree. yes, he's great now, but sooner or later teams are going to start paying attention and shutting him down OR he'll be put in on offense and won't see much return action. he'll still be a threat, but not as much of one.
