Moser316
Honestly, I don't see what's so different about most of these helmets, but I'll go through one-by-one with my comments:Eastern Michigan: All you did was put a white outline around the current "E" logo, when it's really not needed.UNLV: Downgrade, looks nondescript compared to what they currently have.Idaho: Too cluttered with the "I" behind the "Vandals" wordmark.Utah State: Just a reversed version of what they currently have, white looks so much better for them.Ball State: Again, white looks better for Ball State.North Texas: Something like this could work, it just needs to be cleaned up a bit w/ black trim on the outside of the logo.Stanford: Do you have something against white helmets?Middle Tennessee: For that matter, against silver helmets too?Rutgers: The current block "R", sorry to say, looks so much better than the old medieval "R".LSU: Downgrade over what they currently have.Louisiana Tech: What did you do differently here? They look identical to what they currently wear.Florida International: That logo is from the old set, so no way they'd use it.Florida Atlantic: Another team that looks better in white helmets.Rice: Nothing more than a simple recycling of the old design.Illinois: The block "ILLINOIS" wordmark looks so much better.Arizona: See comment for Louisiana Tech.USC: See comment for Louisiana Tech.Wake Forest: This is one of the few designs I actually like, but lose the striping.Michgan State: See comment for Louisiana Tech.Virginia Tech: See comment for Louisiana Tech.Nevada: See comment for Louisiana Tech.Mississippi State: See comment for Rice.Alabama: The block numbers are an untouchable classic. And no, putting them in the middle of the script "A" won't suffice.South Carolina: See comment for Louisiana Tech.Southern Miss: The new logo looks too much like Iowa's tiger hawk to be used on the helmets.Bowling Green: Did you give proper credit for use of that logo?Ohio: See comment for Florida Atlantic.Vanderbilt: This one could actually work, but needs cleaning up.Tulsa: Too much distracting trim.Wisconsin: See comment for Florida Atlantic.SMU: Mustang logo needs to be bigger, but you have the right idea.Baylor: Save for the facemask, see comment for Louisiana Tech.Penn State: The lack of logo/block numbers are an untouchable classic.Syracuse: Not enough contrast between white and orange to make logo work in any other color than navy.Purdue: See comment for Louisiana Tech.UCLA: Not enough contrast between the collegiate blue and gold.San Jose State: Black does not belong anywhere near the Spartan head logo.Northwestern: Save for the facemask, see comment for Louisiana Tech.Florida: Might work if you reversed the blue and orange.Indiana: See comment for Louisiana Tech.San Diego State. This one would work better without the stripe.Navy: Probably the best of a sorry bunch.Central Florida: Might work if you added a UCF to the logo.BYU: See comment for Rice.East Carolina: Use the ECU or the Pirates wordmark on the helmet, but don't use both.Whew, that was a mouthful. Kids, what you see above is a prime example of why we emphasize quality over quantity here on the Creamer boards. You can't hide a rushed job on a concept by releasing a flood of them (if it didn't work for Master P and No Limit Records, it won't work for you). speedy
You can't hide a rushed jobAnd get rid of that rediculously oversized picture of you playing football, or practicing, or filling up the water cooler, or whatever you're doing. tone it down, thanks. steiny_ramone
You're probably working in paint, so I'll give you credit for the gradient. The view of the helmets isn't very creative, though. All it looks like is logos slapped on a helmet, then you coloured in the facemask. You need more views to show the helmet stripes, so there's more creativity. facespace?http://www.myspace.com/seancalcottmusic http://www.myspace.com/forgottentoys
winghaz
I have to disagree on a handfull of comments from our good friend Moser:Ball State: Does every Cardinals team have to have white helmets?Rutgers: The medieval R is far better than a block R for a team called the Knights.Rice: It may be bringing back an old design, but that's by far a superior design.Illinois: The block "ILLINOIS" is one of the worst designs for a football helmet. The block I is far superior.Alabama: Yes, Alabama's model is considered a classic and won't be replaced. Still, the logo on the helmet is much superior to the classic look, because the classic look sucks.Southern Miss: No, the new logo doesn't look at all like Iowa's tiger hawk. Iowa's hawk is a silhouette while this logo has details.Penn State: See comment for Alabama.Florida: Florida needs to use the Gator logo. Logos without letters are usually superior to logos with letters, and Florida's Gator logo has, in its short existence, become a classic.
